Kellogg Patio Plus Soil?

Just found out about this soil and I was wondering can I use this Kellogg Patio Plus with out other amendments maybe with some worm casting and more perlite? Last year I bought soils that was called 215 soil and I bought like 8 yards of it and it seems really dry and not so good but a lot of people use it and their plants are monsters and some of my plants was pretty big too. I'll be growing outdoor with my home made 3x3x1 wood box. If anyone can chime in on this soil that would help me a lot. I was gonna go with ocean forest or roots 707 but it cost too much. Price on ocean forest is about $11 and 707 goes for $18 and Kellogg cost about $6

I'm using right now, outdoors with good results.

It's just as hot as FFOF though.

And for 5 dollars a bag you can't beat that.

The guy that works at home depot told me to use some kind of soil that they carry and add the steer manure that they also carry and I ask if he grows and he said no but his friends grow and they use kellogg patio plus soil and added those amendments. I was thinking of getting this and add more perlite and worm casting. So how long did you put your plants outdoor and what strain got any pics? Oh which gromulch did you? Home depot carrys kellogg gromulch might just add some of that too if it's good.

It works good I mix it with perlite & peat moss.If you are growing large support the plants because it is a soft mix.

The one bagseed I have in this soil has been growing good for about 3 weeks now.

And I used kelloggs gromulch. I just added about a handful or two.

More worm castings certainly would help.

This was taken about 2 weeks ago.

I will toss some pics up for you.

I have used Maxsea and DirrtyD's soil mix with this soil with zero issues. Last 2 seasons pulled over 5# each.

Nice big plants. So you just use Kellogg patio plus soil straight up with nothing added?

Thanks. :) I did do that on some but added Maxsea on others and mixed up some supersoil for the rest.

I would say in the 15-20 gal smartpots you could veg for 6-8 weeks without adding anything from my experience but if you do add something to the mix or during waterings you can get your plants to blow up! :D

I'm gonna use nutes 1 or 2 weeks after I transplant my plants to this soil my grow box is 3x3x1 and I think I need about 9cu ft to fill up my grow box but I still have my last years soil mix the soil is called 215 mixed soil and it's really dry and it is not that good but I did get my plants about 5 feet tall and 5 feet wide so I'll just mix it with the kellogg patio plus. So adding ocean forest to it just another waste of money?

Not at all. Some people swear by certain products and I haven't used O.F. at all so I can't speak to that. But you can get away with using K.P.P. @ $6/bag. It's got the same shit in it for the most part and whatever is missing you can add yourself for a nice savings. :)

Here is DirrtyD's soil mix and grow. It's where I picked up on K.P.P

You can add subtract whatever you like and see what works for you. You will need something for flowering anyways. :) Because I had been watching his threads I followed his mix for some of my plants and was able to go about 2-3 weeks into flower before I needed anything else.

I'll be using my flowering nutes when it starts to flower. And I'll see what other amends I can get to mix with the patio plush soil.
