Can I just remove some of the soil on top? They will sprout faster at about a 1/4 inch. altho you can cover it with less, as long as the seeds covered.
if you dont slightly pack the soil down, you will likely have to remover tje shell.
if your seedlings pop up, but dont shed their shell, you will have to remove the shells
You are 7 hours ahead of me. Wayne is 5 behind you. i think anyway...how are they looking this morning!? (i have no idea what time it is over there... little over midday here)
Yes, but i wouldnt disturb them. its not worth the risk of exposing roots to lightCan I just remove some of the soil on top?
I raised the peat pots to about 4 inches away from the light. Is this a bad idea or should I run with it?Yes, but i wouldnt disturb them. its not worth the risk of exposing roots to light

Exactly how I felt!yeah i was gonna say bout that not looking like 4inches.. don't worry about them man. just relax and let them do their thing!
i really like the way you structure it! it looks great! although unfortunately you will lose the ability to edit earlier posts eventually.. but i think, especially how you structured it,you should create a new thread to help newbies out. it's excellently written.Exactly how I felt!
By the way, I periodically add all my steps and how-to's on my initial post to this thread. Check it out man!
Maybe you and I can create something if you are down? Mash out knowledge together and make a wicked newbie go-by document. I think it would be sick.i really like the way you structure it! it looks great! although unfortunately you will lose the ability to edit earlier posts eventually.. but i think, especially how you structured it,you should create a new thread to help newbies out. it's excellently written.
Alright man, good shit. Do you use any messenger? Pm me a way we can keep in immediate contact unless you're most comfortable in this forum setting?hell i'll be up for that!
Well no one really uses AIM anymore but I go on Trillian and use my AIM account. The only people I really see on AIM anymore are the people who used to use it in high school so it's very low key now.what do you use? i'll sign up sure. i haven't used any in years thanks to facebook and whatnot
That's exactly what I thought, it's okay, I guess. I just wanted to make sure my soil was good and moist with no standing water and that the temp is right where it's supposed to be. I put a heating pad under my set up this morning because we had a cold night... which means they had a cold night. I am plateauing the temp at 22° Celsius, which should be perfect for them. The heating pad is a simple heating blanket with no physical contact to the plastic, there is a towel between the two and it successfully plateaued the temp so that's pretty exciting!yeah you planted them just a tad to deep, but only for them to sprout quickly. the only thing you've done is very slightly prolonged breaking the soil. no worries!
