Are my plants to small for 5 weeks?

This is my first time growing and i dont really have much money for expensive lights so right now they are under 300wt bulb and also a 20wt black light (for the extra uv)with tin foil of the walls. im using a mixture of organic dirt/miracle grow/and some seedling dirt. I water them only when the dirt gets dry or when the plants look dry. Three are about 17inches and the other three are about 15 inches. One of them hardly got any light at first to she is only 6 inches and 1 is about 7 inches because she snapped and i had to bury her deeper.

Again, i don't have much money so there isn't much i can do for them. But are there any cheap solutions i could do?

Hey ben, Sorry to say but those girls are way too stretched, u can still do something if u choose. R these bagseeds. And u don't have to spend a lot of money on lights. U can do a cfl grow like I. I go to walmart and spend $10 for 6 bulbs. I jus recently added a hps to the grow b/c I brought a new bulb for it. I started with 6 bulbs
Then
To lol
Then I tried
And finally Ended up with this setup

Yep, totally what AimAim said... You'd be best off just saving up until you can get a light. You can get some pretty nice lights for a semi decent price, I got 600W Digital Ballasts W/ Metal Halide and High Pressure sodium bulbs plus an open air wing style reflector for $160/each (that's EVERYTHING you need in the lighting department) Even getting a 250W or something would make a jaw dropping difference. It's likely that there are other practices at work with your grow that need improving too if you're trying to make do with such little light.

It's kind of hard to get started when you don't have much cash to get up and going but I'd just start saving up, set a little aside for lighting and other things and make improvements as you go while you can.

For comparisons sake, these two plant are also around 5 weeks in this photo...

Lighting is a huuuuuuuuuge factor, although I am growing in DWC so that's a huge factor as well... I don't think a soil plant would be as big as mine is in 5 weeks.. these plants are also tied down in about 10 different spots each, otherwise they'd be a couple feet tall.

You need more light and way closer to the top of the plant. when the light is far above the plants will strech like yours have. ive never seen them strech that much without falling over!!

wow, those be some skinny dames .... nearly anorexic man.

you are using a regular lightbulb huh .... check the cfl section and threads for some relative cheap solutions.

I dunno about these plants, but .. perhaps you could cut them up to become clones for your next batch.

Are you a broke kid? That would be my first question. Dude you should be able to cough up 50 bucks, that will at least get you some CFL's and better dirt. If you can't come up with that money the I would say you should probably focus on making better choices to help you make money. Or grow outside. So much cheaper and the sun is free.

Am I the only one that feels sorry for those babys ?
No disrespect to the OP.
The least little breeze and they would be flat.
LIGHT !!!

Oh my god, i feel so bad. There stems are very strong i have a fan on them most of the day and they never knock over. Should i re pot them some to lower the height, then put the lights as close as i can? Would that stop them from stretching or is it to late? or what if i moved them outside for a little while?

Ya man everything in here is good advice open up your couch or something and get some CFL's, there is no way those plants will survive without more light and maybe a TOP .
way to lanky to support any kind of bud.
Maybe you can get a clone for her and start over in new soil, new light, ( outdoor season is here) .
I have these two outside , topped and LST its been 35 days since they come up from the soil. 002.jpg003.jpg004.jpg
