I've read a couple of articles on this and from what I gather the powers that be are keeping a very close eye on the production & distribution of these 3D printers, for this exact reason. So maybe a case could be made for the printers themselves, but I also see trouble brewing because of the blueprints available to the public on the production of firearms through 3D printing.

It will be interesting to see where this is going to end up.

Technology is gonna change SO much over the next 50 years, I don't think a lot of us can fathom the things we're going to have. Those printers are amazing, and it's a neat idea.

3D printers are amazing because they can print a virtually unlimited number of objects, not because that includes guns, logically, as well. So many beautiful things one can create, and people get excited over being able to print a gun...

It's a little more than an 'idea' :) Though still at an early stage, 3D printers are hardly new and a very obvious step forwards.

the reason i like the idea of a printed gun is because finally since 1600 are the normal person be able to arm themselves and protect themself against opression and tyranny. i LOVE IT and cant wait for it to happen more. the powers that be cannot keep their grip on us for much longer

whats the big deal about a plastic gun that holds and shoots one round? I have lots of guns that shoot way more than that .

meh..........no biggie. It takes a lot more effort to find and print and make this piece of crap than going to the nearest gun store and getting something that goes bang.

this may be true right now. but someday it might not be.
theres a reason for the second amendment.
everyone didnt always just believe whatever the govt says.

and its not so much for people like us right now, we live in a 'free' country

the liberator is for people with opressive governement hawking over them, people in china, north korea or somewher else that guns ARE NOT available (like the UK for example) thats why this IS a big deal, and if you dont think its a big deal, well then you should look around you and see whats really going on. good luck :peace: iloveyouall

I still think it will be easier and cheaper to just go down to the hardware store/junkyard and build a gun with some hand tools than buy/use a 3D printer.

I mean the cheapest 3D printer I've seen was about $1k, I could build a whole stack of submachine guns for that much.

Duct tape is some bad shit.......we did use iron pipe too. We did some very crazy things. When we were having 70mph wind gust, we went to the tallest hill with a 20x20 tarp and threw it up like a sail. Damn thing would throw us 40 feet. I lost a whole fingernail that day, another guy lost his pocketknife.

We used to tie bricks to the tails of kites when the wind got like that when we were kids, I was surprised a $1 clearance sale Elmo kite could carry 3 red bricks waaayyy up in the air like that but it did.

Yeah, pretty sweet. I guess the first one only fired a couple rounds before falling apart though.. I like the idea though.
