Best way to promote the growth of male flowers on a hermaphrodite

i chopped my plant the other day.. good ol harvest time,, make me hornier than a dog in heat ;).. anyway i decided to leave one branch on and "self" it.. ive got male flowers starting by inducing light pollination but I was wondering if there is a specific light cycle,, or something else i should do to promote the growth of these male flowers.. i dont want to waste too much electricity doing this the hard way if there is an easy way. I am also attempting to pollinate a small completely phototropic plant i have kicking around as an old experiment that i never threw away.. any chance? im not sure how far into the flow cycle this little plant is.. maybe 7 weeks or so,, but the growth has been stunted a lot,, most of the stigmas are dry so i didnt know if they would take the pollen or not.

if anyone knows a thing or two about breeding and/or selfing please shed some light for me,, it would be very apreciated

:peace:

I am sorry, but your post did not make sense to me. You harvested a female plant and have left a branch you wish to pollenate for seeds?

no,, i forced it to turn into a hermaphrodite... meaning it now has male flowers as well as female flowers... about 75% of the female stigmas are dried and i wanted to know if dry stigmas will accept pollen and create a seed... i am also wondering if if a hermie will pollinate a nearby female with about 50% sigmas dry. and what ligting cycle i should use to promote the growth of male flowers so i can "self" the plant and get seeds.

This is actually a really interesting idea if I am getting the right point.

Say you bought fem white widow seeds, harvested it and left a little bit of the flowers / bud on (as if you were going to try a re veg) but stressed it with lights to turn it hermie to get some more white widow seeds instead of buying them.

Now you have me wondering.

thats is EXACTLY what i am attempting. ty.. but i need to know what lighting cycle i should use to promote the growth of the male flowers... they pretty much popped up over night but they seem to be growing very slow,, as why i am posting

what lighting cycle should i use to promote the growth of the male flowers to pollinate the female flowers?

is this possible? 75% of the stigmas are dryed so im not sure of they will even produce any seeds but there are still some fresh white ones

is there anything else i should know about breeding or selfing? this is my first time doing anything like this so any advice would be appreciated

For openers, hermies can and will pollinate a female.
Secondly, I do not believe you can take feminized seeds and produce a hermie, as another poster suggested. This is because all males and females with hermie traits had been forced out of the closet, in the feminizing process.

Experts around RIU, like FDD2BL, have said before, "hermies are more useless than even a male". So, from that I infer there is no value in them, at all.

But good luck. Keep this thread going and report back your findings.

you dont know what the fuck you are talking about... feminized seeds will turn herm easier than a normal seed

thats not the point however... im not wondering about fem seeds or anything like that.... what i need to know is:

what lighting cycle should i use to promote the growth of the male flowers to pollinate the female flowers?

will dryed stigmas pollinate and form seeds?

Dude that must be irritating that no one answers your question. Check this out ...I am new at this but been reading alot....Im not sure if you have enough time to pollinate before the bud goes bad .....honestly 75 % of stigmas are ready ? give it a try man..unless some one with a good answer comes along. But keep in mind that a hermie that pollinates a hermie will give you hermie seeds...a hermie that pollinates a female , I think is like 90 % female seeds. GOOD LUCK....

P.S. I think a good light cycle would be like 14/10,10/14,16/8... Just keep fucking with its head....ANYONE feel free to correct me if IM wrong...Except you fu#@%^ smart asses that think you know everything and only get 1/2 an oz off a plant...

lol.. thank you ceerock.. someone to give me courage... i have kept it on 12/12 so far but have been "fucking with it's head" by interrupting its dark cycle like crazy... i cant believe noone has tried this before and cannot tell me a few things... am i the only one who wants so badly to keep a plants genetics alive without cloning? i personally have nothing against cloning but i do not do it myself... i like to grow from seeds and am dying to find a way to keep these genetics

not to mention its way to late to clone... i was thinking about regenerating it but i dont think it would give good results. plus,, the reason why i dont like to clone is because i like to smoke different kinds of weed... i dont want to smoke countless O's of the same kind of weed.., so i wanted to make some seeds so later on i could grow it again

you want 12/12. marijuana flowers at 12/12. male or female.

you need at least 4 - 5 weeks for the seeds to ripen once the calyx gets pollinated. if you can get pollen on a white hair it should take. the hair will start to turn brown after 2 days once you pollinate it. from that point you just wait for it to ripen. :finger: :mrgreen:bongsmiliebongsmilie
