Want to grow lanky sativa but not much room

Background: I bought 10 Mexican Sativa seeds from Sensi a few months ago. Supposedly they are bred from a number of landrace strains, including Oaxacan, one of my all-time faves. I haven't planted them yet. My grow area is about 6 sq. ft. of a closet, with room to grow maybe 4 ft. tall max. I'm using 4 CFLs, each at least 100w. I know about LST and SCROG, but I'm also wondering, what if I just put the seedlings under 12/12 light when they're about a week old? Will that help to keep them from getting too big?

You should be fine.

have considered this myself, but even smaller setup
i have watched a few cfl/sativa grows on here, may have not been huge yields, but went better than i expected
hear you on some mexican strains, god i'd love to have them again, did see a nice a nice El Dorado grow, that was a 400w hps i think

I'd love to try El Dorado if I ever get enough room to use HPS or HID or find a place to grow outside. I'd give my left nut to get my hands on some decent seed straight from Oaxaca or that area, but I don't think that's possible without knowing someone who lives there or visits frequently.

i think you're right and needing some very good contacts, but i think the seed banks are your best shot
i do watch some landrace grows over on ic, and some of those genetics look very legit
but damn, it's the growing conditions + genetics to get the beautiful weed from years ago, which is why i hesitate, i have seen plenty of sativa grows that didn't go too well
