LST Questions. How Long Do I Leave My Plant Tied Down?

Hey everyone, going to LST my next set of plants and i have a couple of questions that i can't really find any clear answers to.
How old do you think i can start LST'ing them? How many nodes high roughly?
How long do i keep them tied down? I've seen plants that have main stems growing completely horizontally, and i'm wondering what they do with the plants after they untie them, that's if they do untie them.
Thanks, any information, links, pics or websites will be greatly appreciated.

I always let them loose when they hit flower. you can start lst as soon as you like most wait to see a little side branching first

So i could basically keep my plants tied up throughout the whole of veg and untie them when they start flowering? Am i right in saying that?

Okay thanks. Would there be any beneficial differences if i decide to keep them tied down during flower or if i untie them? Would it effect the bud production at all?

Thanks, that page is pretty helpful. From experience does anyone know if it's best to keep them tied down until harvest or untie when flowering begins?

Dont get too crazy man, untie them soon after they begin to flower and then sit back , wate4r her , feed her and let her do her thing .
Of course you could leave her tied down until harvest, and you actually may want to do that if you plan on leaving her in a place where she is cramped by space and or too close to the light. but again IMO your plant is way to thin and should have been tied down weeks ago to actually get the whole benefit of the LST by creating a bushy, top laden plant and not a tall thin lanky thing that looks like a small fan would blow her over within 5 minutes on oscillate.

if I were you i would top her good, tie her down much tighter to the pot than it is now, and see what happens, the top of the plant can be horizontal to the dirt and she will love it.

At the end of the day you should do something quick before she gets too old.

These are my opinions, and are aimed for you the grower to think about things before they happen. I aint no pro , I only have 2 completed grows under my belt, and use this site for the same reason as everyone else.

i normally wait til there's like 3 nodes, take a paper clip put it in a horseshoe shape n straddle it till the plant is running along the soil, then keep moving the paper clip closer to the edge till i can tie it down to the plant. sometimes i let it go in flower sometimes i dont. depends on the plant size and how lazy im being. (gotta b honest from reading a lot of stuff on this forum i feel like the laziest grower in the world)

Who was that in reply to? Them pictures weren't mine, they were Slipon's. And if you was saying that to him, he couldn't have tied down the plants 'weeks ago' since it is 14 days old. If you're responding to me, i plan to LST my next plants not the one i have growing atm. And yeah that makes sense, i'll just untie them and let them do their thing like you said.
