Fox farms ocean forest outdoors

So im starting my first grow in mid june this year. Im getting 7 autos and 3 regulars. I plan on planting the regulars in 12-15 gallon holes with fox farm ocean forest soil. Is this a good idea? For the autos id do the same thing but with 5 gallons. Is this alright for autoflowers and regulars? Would i need to add any other things to the soil to really make my first grow successful?

FF Ocean Forest is a great soil IMO. Some people add some extra perlite to it but you don't have to. The soil comes PH balanced and with enough nutrients for a few weeks.

But what do i do after those few weeks? what do i feed them then? Also can i put my seeds directly in the 12-15 gallon hole or do i absolutely need to do it in a smaller pot then transplant because i really dont see the need in doing so

You do not need to transplant. You can just do it like you are talking about. I would keep feeding them after those first few weeks. Personally, I use the Fox Farm lineup: Big Bloom, Grow Big, and Tiger Bloom. I do not have much experience growing outdoors so hopefully someone else will chime in on any specifics. Using the Ocean Forest will make a huge difference instead of just planting them in the ground, though.

Your best bet is to plant them and while they are working through the nutes that come with the soil, do all the research you can on how to diagnose different problems and how to fix them. Depending on the strain and how much direct sunlight they get, they might get huge. You should start a grow journal on here. Lots of RIUers follow those and are more than happy to give advice on anything you wish.

I would like to help you more but I am an indoor guy until I can grow legally, then I will migrate outdoors. I would hate to give you bad advice.

Same here I would hate to give you bad advice on this as I am also and indoor grower but I personally use FFOF and I know it works very well in general. I have seen enough to believe that it has the nutes to take you through veg but have recently learned that FFOF apparently does not hold enough nutes to take you through flower so you will need to add nutes regardless. I am adding Advanced Nutrients Nutes during flowering with great results and every couple waterings am using adv. nutr. veg nutes on the vegging plants that are in FFOF also with good results no burning or anything. Overall FFOF is good stuff id definitely say go with it.

EDIT: Although if you use a 20 gal pot for instance you may have enough soil and nutes in the soil to take you through veg and flowering.
