Ok, so, I am having a few issues with getting my plants up and running as I think I have stunted one as I germed it on the 1st of this month...The other popped with only one true leaf and is growing retarted which popped on about the 8th and I have 2 more which broke ground 2 days ago. Maintaining 20-27 degrees directly at plant height depending on time of day, running under 600w MH with fan. Dont have humidity meter as of yet but it feels decently humid in the room. I hang a damp towel up and mist the walls to help. Plants are 13' from light as fan moving hot air away. They are now in a 60/40 mix of peat moss and perlite with some dolomite lime. Feeding with distilled water.
With the oldest I had it in some regular potting soil for the first 5-6 days until I bought some peat moss. Rushing into it and not doing the proper research I put the eldest in straight peat moss for a day or 2 then realized that it is quite acidic on it own so quickly bought perlite and dolomite lime. I think the burns on tips are from peat moss. I ph tested the medium and got it between 6-6.5(best I could narrow it to as its the solution ph test kit with color range). It seemed to not grow or grow EXTREMELY slowly and now has some little burns at the tips of the first set of leaves. It is growing but real slow still it looks its bouncing back...Opinions?
14th of May - 2 weeks old: and these are from 20th of May - 3 weeks old: I think I was over watering the first 2 weeks but have since backed off to once every 2-3 days and noticed the leaves have perked back up a bit.Cotyledons are quite yellow now and tips dont seem to be getting burnt anymore. Do you guys think it is bouncing back? And as its 3 weeks old now do you think a small dose of nutrients could do it good? I know its not the 4-5 nodes high yet but as it has been a slow grower because of my fuck up, its already at 3 weeks. Not sure how long they are self sufficient from the cotyledons...
This is the ugly duckling. I germed it after realizing my fuck up on the first so wanted a backup... Didnt spend any time in the straight peat but it was born with 1 true leaf. It has started to show the other leaf so I thought I would let it just soldier on and see what happened.
14th of May - 1 week oldand these are from 20th of May - 2 weeks old:Same situation with the watering. First weeks was watering prob too much but now only once every 2-3 days. It has only been in the peat moss/perlite/dolomite lime mix. Didnt get any of the straight peat. Its lean is just from the light. Notice the extra growth coming through? Whats your thoughts on that?? Is it gonna be a retarted grow because of this or should I just see it through?
Now, because of the fuck up on the first seedling and the retartedness of the second, I decided to pop 2 more beans. The only broke ground 2 days ago and seem ok(for the moment). No issues with germination or breaking ground. Cotyledons seem ok color except they are drooping but I read that that is ok as its only a couple days old. These guys are having a much more balanced water schedule and soil ph is still 6-6.5. Watering with distilled water when needed.
2 days old:These seem to have popped ok...Let me know what you think!
Can someone analyze these seedlings, let me know your thoughts and opinions on each and tell me if there is anything I can do to help their progression?
Does the oldest look like its bouncing back, is it going to be a slow grow because of my faults and should I give it some nutes because of its age?
Will the second grow ok is it it just the ugly duckling, bearing in mind its progression over 2 weeks!
Do the new seedlings seem to have popped ok? Drooping cotyledons and what not?
If you need any more info about the setup or anything please ask...Thanks guys...
