If I can find a single bulb fixture for half the price of the double bulb it will be fine. Got any ideas?
"grow quality" or any?

I know HTG has one available, but it would have to be ordered online. Theirs and the other ones I can find on amazon are ~$30/ea.

I guess it was more of a question to get your mind rolling.

Oh wow, I didn't even notice HTG had 1 bulb fixtures. AND they can daisy chain! cuts my lighting cost down by 33%! Thanks man!

Wow those pics a page or so back... 4-5 ozs. is a bit far fetched... But I digress... I am really impressed with my Area 51 panel, my third time running PTW, and by far the bushiest and earliest to purple. We'll see how the weight goes when its all said and done. I also like my Lumigrow 650, but after several weeks of observing, I don't really know if its going to outgrow my 600 hps. Once again, no final weights yet, and it is my first round with LED, so we'll see. My initial observation is the buds may not be quite as big, but they are super dense... Interesting to say the least.

What's with all the dick-teasing info for months and NO pics yet ...!?!;-)

Waiting on final weight... 4-5z may be optimistic, but I have pulled over 4z on similar sized plants with these LEDs on a 'medium' yielding strain. The one above may very well end up not being 4z, but it's definitely going to yield decently and will definitely yield more than 1z/gallon.

Well, I'm not saying, its not possible... As I have already stated, the buds seem way dense under the leds, and since I've yet to complete a round under them, Its just from appearance sake that I said that... Guess I'll shut up till the numbers come in... As far as pics, I'll try to get some on here in the next few days, have never uploaded pics here so I'll try to get it all figured out... I have some Blueberry and some Deathstar almost ready under the Lumigrow (started under HPS), and I'll throw in some of the PTW under the Area-51. One thing is for sure, I turned down my exhaust when I switched from the 600 hps, and the tent still runs way cooler, the things throw little to no heat! (relative to other lights I've used) That includes my Badboy T5's. So far I likey, especially the Area 51.

That plant came in at 3.5z -- once the buds were cry, it was obvious it needed another week or two of maturing at least... so would've definitely yielded over 4 had I taken it long enough, but I had no choice I had to cut everything this past weekend due to intruders to my grow coming soon ;) 3.5z in a 2.4g pot under 240w LEDs still isn't bad :)

240w...? I thought u used blackstar 240 which actuall draw is on 135 true watts. Just trying to figure out hownu got to 240w?

Im using (multiple) blackstar 240s which are 3w x 80 - you are correct on power draw. 1440w total but < 1k total draw over 6' x 4' area

Very nice work on ur grow brother! Looks delicious! Ok, maybe u can school me is actual draw the same as watts being put out?? Cause I have 2 240's and I thought output was the same as draw so was thinking I had 135 x 2= 270w.. Is that right?

I heard they make LED's that run on a 12 volt dc circuit. They also make different colors to obtain full spectrum.
There are two ways to make "white" light.

1: Use one of each, red, green and blue, all of equal/measured output
2: take another color and add a film/lens/filter to it.

Many whites are yellow LED's with a blue lens/filter.
The difference is that many people don't feel the need to use full spectrum, and LED is the ideal way to customize that right now. Many grows are under way with white LED's as the primary source.

As far as the voltage goes, I'm pretty sure most run higher voltage than that, but I am not the DIY guy when it comes to custom LED fixtures.

I believe so... someone else can explain it better i'm sure but the chips only power the LEDs at the amount of the power draw... so even though they're 3w they may only be operating at an effective 1.75w or something like that.

The chips are the LED's/diodes. They just call them chips cause they are flat now days. Each diode has it's maximum wattage which is what most companies quote to seem like they are more powerful. The truth is that they rarely drive them at their max wattage. The reason they don't drive them to their full potential is because they are most efficient at lower currents[ex:148lm/w@1w(350mA )or 456lm/w@5w(1500mA)], and some heat issues sometimes. To determine the actual wattage you need to know the drive current and the forward voltage of the diodes. 350mA drive current translates to about 1w. Watts=Amps*Voltage...so .35A * 2.85V= 1watt. I think of higher wattage chips as variable chips...meaning you can choose what you want as long as it is within it's capabilities.

Sweet. I'm about 2/3 done jarring this harvest... enough to tell what the rest is probably going to yield. At 20oz now should be around 36oz when complete. It's good to have big ass jars full of flowers again. Very good. I got some nice new ones today that are big enough for me to fit my entire fist in :) sure beats my old mason jars.

Next run it's 4z/plant average or die tryin'.

I fear I may get invited to not post here again as my grow is not purist LED :-P. I added about 200 watts of fluorescents at flower time..... Next time I will scrog and won't need the side lighting as much, but I'll likely keep it anyhow.

About 400 real watts between the 3 LEDs, so 600w in the cabinet total. And blumats, which are just kickass. This is my first grow, so I don't have a frame of reference, but the plants seem to be producing well to me. Gonna chop in a couple of weeks.

Damn budda, looks nice bro!! I use the blackstar 240's x 2 and I wondered how the HTG 240's did because I've seen they have pretty good pricing on them. U said u r using 3 in how big a space? I think I may add one more to me 4x2 space. I c HTG 240 in my near future!! Looking god! Oh yeah, scrog is for sure the way to go with LED IMHO..

Thanks. To be honest, I bought them because they didn't require something being shipped to my house or work and because they were cheap compared to CLW, etc. The cab is 2x4x6, fits 3 of the 240s perfect. I had planned to run 3 plants through flower but due to a lack of ladies ended up with only 2. Had to train the tops over - middle LED came in handy for that.

Next grow uncle bens topping method and da scrog. Maybe I'll position the (6) 2' HO T5s underneath the canopy. Plus I think I may grow in slightly smaller pots, the 5g ones encourage a bit too much of a tree for my cab to handle.

Im not affiliated with HTG. As proof I'll tell you to avoid buying their 6" circ fans. I had 2 crap out inside of 6 months.... but the lights seem very robust. I plan to use 2 of the HTG 7- band 135w UFO style to veg in the future in my (hopefully) perpetual 6 plant grow.
