Don't know why I didn't do this before.
A mate of mine brought me some seeds from a company called Seedmakers.com. Being only 15 Pounds for a 10-pack of fems, I didn't really jump up and down with excitement. In my experience you get what you pay for...
Well, hell's bells, was I surprised. The one I had was called 'Critical' an obvious Mr Nice Critical Mass knock-off. Now I've never been the biggest Critical Mass fan, so little to taste. THIS was DANK though!!!!!
I have no pictures but let me give you a quick review anyhow:
ALL beans popped even though they looked small and immature. Growth was vigorous and tightly packed. Everything about it is very Indica EXCEPT for the leaf-shape which is undeniably a sativa-look. So while growing it looks like this super-dense Sativa with one helluva main stem. I'd actually recommend doing each branch as a 'lollipop' keeping only the top 2/3 or so. Below that it was clear no light is getting in!
DON'T TOUCH that main stalk. It puts sooooo much weight on there, I doubt it would stay standing without good support.
Flowering looked sparse until halfway (4 weeks) when she just EXPLODED. Looked like she was seeded.
Ripens incredibly uniformly, and a rare treat, from the BOTTOM UP! Your tops are ready, everything is ready.
Only gripe is, ALL the crystal is on the bud, not much to rub off the leaves at all. I like my hash :/ FLIPSIDE is, hardly any leaf in the nugs at all, very very easy to trim!!!
I cropped at 9 weeks, the girls were JUST right.
Flavour is very nice. Reminiscent of Big Buddha Cheese, but leaning towards an oldschool Widow-ey dank with a gentle tart undertone. Impresses instantly.
The high, pretty damn classic!!! A good old 'headband' kinda stone, gripping your skull and massaging your synapses. You really feel it in your head, and I mean physically. Quite a nice relaxing effect on muscles, also won't have any problems sleeping after a bong or two I promise. The initial onset has enough Sativa energy to get really creative or get that bit of DIY out the way. What I like about this herb is it adapts to your mindset.
Potency, well it's strong, but not rip-your-head-off kinda vicious. I'd GUESSTIMATE a 15-17 percent THC level, tiny bit of CBD.
I would HIGHLY reccommend this to first-timers (also VERY pest/disease resistant!!! These were my only plants with ZERO bugs, EVER), or anybody on a tight budget looking for something decent. Also a good choice if you're in spiremite-season.
Far as growing methods go, it's either outdoors or SOG. A Scrog will disappoint you, trust me they really depend on that main middle stalk, if you get rid of that you just get tons of rock-hard lollipops. That main cola is UNREAL.
Like I said, don't expect a superstrain yielding nugs with 25 percent plus THC. This is a good all-day smoke, more meant for the guys that take comfort out of relaxing with a fat blunt than the guys that like to make their friends pass out every time they visit. Doesn't quite make 'medical grade' in my opinion, this one is for the average pot-head like most of us are
I've got one little clone outside in week 4, it's winter here so I won't be able to show you the true power of this plant, but I will have something to show you...
