Growing via Candlelight

Is this possible? I was talking to a friend of a friend that was baked about growing. He said to grow via candlelight. Is it possible? I can't even begin to imagine how many candles you would need? How close do you place the candles without the flame burning the plant?

rofl, you must be kidding. Even if it would be possible the outcome of buying candles for 4~ months would be bigger than the electricity billing.

I'd figure that. Even those cheap candles at the dollar store wouldn't be cost effective because they are skinny candles that go in to a candelabra. But what about fire? Is the spectrum of light sufficient in fire?

I know this is a silly question, but the answer is basically no.

The quality of light would be too poor even at the correct intensities. It would cause the plant to stretch like crazy, and it would hit the fire and die a fiery death (or just wilt and fall over).
