I just love the early 60 vettes.My 340 HP 327 4-speed 1962 Vette.
It's not how much horsepower, it's how you get there. When I wanted air conditioning I drove the 2000.

Thanks man. My dad told me stories of cheap gas and neighborhood drag racing. I've only know $1+ gas prices as a driver since '85. The old Vette brings more smiles and conversation than any new exotic I've owned. I met a lot of people with a story that involves an old vette (usually went like this... "got married, had kids, Vette went bye bye" OR "my buddy had one and we would cruise chicks and use the tire well in the trunk to hold beers!").I just love the early 60 vettes. No worries about mpg's back then. I remember 30 cents a gallon !! Yeah, Im a old F'rNice pair of cars bud.
That makes the hairs on my arms stand up! Sweet.that SOUND. cn

Speaking of the awesome hair-raising sound of horsepower ... i know this isn't in everyone's garage, but 0:23 to 0:28, just before the French Space Disco kicks in ... whoahhh. Makes me sticker peck out, no?cn

Just wanted to sub to it, before I forgot or other.
But ya, sound of big imports is nice, but when you're 4 years old, and get the sound of domestic open headers in your ears, you never forget it, and almost nothing compares.
I've had this discussion with somebody here before.![]()
