Seedling going pale pls help somebody!

So I have a bubblegummer in some John innes no:2. Its 6 days old. And it is just growing a second set of leaves (not counting cots) and these leaves are very pale, not completely yellow but in some areas yellow. This is all at this middle of the plant, the first set of leaves is a nice green on the outside, but on the inner most area its also turning pale. At the moment I'm only using a 20w 2700k cfl, but I am getting a 85w 6500k cfl soon. Only started nutes today as I thought it may be a nitrogen deffiency, so it cant be nute burn.

Seedlings that young rarely ever see nitrogen deficiency, infact with leaves that glossy, I'd suspect you have slightly too much N and that the problem is something else.

That is water mate, i spray it on sometimes to keep the plant cool. I am a bit struck as to what it could be.

It's really hard to tell without more info, but it seems like it could be a pH issue.

Dont really know what more info I can give. It may be pH, as nothing else seems to be wrong. They are getting light, the soil is nutrient rich, temps are good. I have a pHtest strip papers, but they aint very accurate, yellow is 6, light green is 7, darker green is 8 (<pH level ) ,my runoff is inbetween light and dark green.

Is the plant hot mate give it a beer as well? Stop spraying, this could be a ph issue or bleaching raise the light.

I had similar prob and and I added nutes and killed them cos it looks like n def but check ur humidity it should be 40-60% its if it too low the roots dont develop and if they dont develope the cant get the nutes they need and it cos a defiency never feed plants that young ever at least week 2 before nutes

Think you may be right, its not nutes or light. It seems to be getting worse. How can I increase humidity inside a box to the required level without having to invest in humidifiers.

I just wet a tea cloth with cold water and put it in the room I would also invest in a digital thermostat that tells u humidity aswell that way u can keep an eye on it if its a big room I would use a few or a bowl of ice let me know how u get on

Ur soil looks overwatered I use a hempy style set up classed as hydro due to a soiless medium if u follow the link and read the two post from crabbyback it explains all this setup stops over watering its fool proof as long u dont over do the nutes and really easy

It is getting worse, the bigger leaves are getting yellower and yellower. Could the roots be messed up and not providing water to the plants?

Well u did add nutes so I could still be affecting ur plant u could do a flush with plain ph water but u have a chance of drowning then aswell aand makeit worse I would let her be keep ur temps about 25c and keep ur humidty about 50 it can take up to a week before it even starts to grow again properly or if u have any more seeds start again and did u read the link I posted for u I will take pics of my set up with it so u can see also

I repotted into equal parts vermiculite and perlite, and watered with tapwater, no nutes for now. It isnt looking much better, and growth is slow for a 1 week plant. If it doesnt get better then I can safely assume it is a humidity/temp issue. Got a pH meter and the pH is looking fine, my tapwater has a pH of 5.7.

there is your answer.. you should be around 6.5 -6.7 for soil

That is the water I put into it, the runoff is between 6 and 7.

Why would the runoff from your soil be the same as the run off from your new perlite vermiculite mix? You're doing hempy now that you transplanted, right? Now you're growing hydroponically.

No I meant runoff from the perlite vermi mix, it was 5.7, so I mixed up some water and added washing up liquid till it reached about 6.8. In hindsight a bad decision.

Right going to repot into a proper hermy. About the nutes, I have a bottle of liquid fertilizer, it says mix 1 part for every 200 parts water, and its ratios are : 25 12 9. Will this be ok to use a nute?

EDIT: repotted into pure perlite, with plenty of water till it drained (drain hole 2 inches high). Just a quick question, what is the maximum height of the pot? Mine is about the height of my hand (fingertip to wrist) and maybe couple centimetres higher. Hopefully this works.
