Waiting for those females

Hey guys this is just a thread for fellow growers like myself Waiting for our plants to show their sex. share your stories and pictures of how your process is going so far and how you got to this point. I'm 3 weeks in and I have 3 plants up and running. I just topped my plants yesterday, I have 13 days till they recover and I can switch to ze ole 12/12. fingers crossed for females!
:bigjoint:

Peace!

Do you cut the top or the bottom nodes to get your clones? :) and I have no phone to take photos, it's getting fixed right now. Grr!

it all depends on what want do with mom but generally like take cuts all over like spread it out so dont look like charlie browns xmas tree lol

Hahaha, I haven't heard a Charlie Brown reference in a long time! :') but that does sound like a good idea. If there only turns out to be one female I'm gonna have to trim mumma bear to compensate for my losses. do you dip your cuttings into that root growth formula? apparently you can just leave them in water till roots sprout out the bottom?

You don't have to 'recover' to go to flower after topping fwiw... that's just my opinion. My next batch will be 12/12 from seed and I plan on topping :)

Generally what I've noticed in my outdoor (and just *very* recently in my first indoor) grows, is that male/herm will show sex before female, so they are easy to decipher. As a new grower, you're going to look every day, so if you don't see the two small hairs, don't panic. Let things grow out. Males will show themselves with ball sacks long before they pollinate and you *will* be able to identify them.

Chop them down, and watch the rest. When you discard the males/hermies, put them in a bag and throw them in a dumpster a few blocks from your house.

Clones? Some say from bottom, but I have taken from what makes Mom look better. Mostly from bottom, but pruned branches from the top are just as effective.

Pics? You might see some white hairs on my three indoor females in the last pic of the last post in my sig for my current grow ;)

u right males usually alway show before fem

wow, thanks guys and yeah you're right I am checking pretty much everyday... sometimes twice;-) do you know the age, height or maturity the plants need to be to start showing balls or hairy fairys? I understand it depends on the strain and whatnot but a generalised answer would be cool? haha

-Happy smoking!

thats what I'm hoping for but at the same token they are growing quite aggresively and have shot up. like I topped two bigger ones less than 24 hours ago and I can already see shoots at the top, so hopefully I just have prestine conditions for my little babies. by the way I've named them, snooki, holly and allison... just for further persuasion

Important! I cut down a male, and just set it aside in a bag. A couple of days later I took a look, and saw that the pollen sacs had opened up in the meantime, with pollen wafting through the air.

Luckily I was able to contain it, but I learned my lesson!

that would have been scary! I would probably have fell on my knees, sucked on my thumb and then continued to roll around on the grow room floor
