After working it out. with these new bulbs + fixings from amazon + homemade reflector + adaptors, the whole cost to end up with a nice 240w output comes in at around €38. Add that to the watt output I already have and the plants will be swimming in light! not bad considering I nearly forked out €45 for 1 125w cfl...

O and sorry cloudy, excellent work on the lighting. those fucking 125s are a waste of money. and you are right about buying used being not smart. vut, you learned another grow related lesson. im glad to see when new growers have these minor issues. we all need mistakes and problems to make us stronger growers.
and now you have even better lighting. bonus to this is, your current lighting will make a excellent lighting for a clone cabinet or for seedlings later on...

I found the one hardware store in town that sells light fixtures and cable by the meter!!! I bought 4 plugs, 4 bayonet fixtures and 4 metres of cable and a larger baking tin for a euro. unreal. Gonna build it tomorrow! Now all i need is a few y splitters. i can't believe i found what I've been looking for for the past 3 months on a total whim! fuck you amazon!
