What led is best value for small grow

Here's a couple pics of my first grow using BrandX strain- WH x WW pollinated with BG male;

Vegged under household led bulbs which then were used as supplement lighting. During flower I added my ufo, 90 (R/B ~ 8:1). ~ 100 watts total

The main cola is >12"

That's some nice lookin AK JJ. And sorry bout the mix up with your time. I get sooo confused around here sometime :). But she does look like she's getting there. Perhaps harvesting her one section at a time is in your future with this plant to make sure you can get your max yield. Are you going to post her in this thread and see what the "experts" have to say? Could be an interesting post.

I just had a look at my girl this morning and I found these. Does anyone know what they are. I'm talking about the 3 prong things? Any help would be appreciated

Lime green going on yellow? Resemble the shape of a banana? Pluck them off with tweezers as you see them....as they are pollen sacks. Since you are a way into flower...no seeds should set. :)

Thanks Chronik, do you know if I would be close to harvest if she is throwing bananas?

Bananas can be a sign of stress. Whether that be Nute, heat or light (leaks). I believe i have a slight light leak on my PC case...hence the bananas. But i also believe that this particular phenotype of 'Acid' is susceptible to hermie traits as none both the pineapple express and Purple haze are fine....so in your case it could be the strain/phenotype. Anywayz to answer your question..not necessarily. :)

JJ you may want to spray those with water before removing or remove the plant from the area before removing. Plus removing the plant from the tent can make it easier to find more of those little banana bastards. A little pollen can go a long way. What's your temps and humidity?

Thanks for the tip FranJan. The temps run pretty constant at about 20 deg when lights out and 25 deg with lights on. The humidity is changes a little bit just depending on the weather, but its usually around 60-70%.

Those are solid numbers in my book, humidity is up a little but I don't think that's gonna cause nanners. So maybe a light leak? Did you ever check your lights after lights out to make sure they completely turn off? Some panels do that for a variety of reason. Otherwise it's most likely genetics and you could try to change some aspect of your grow room so it's hormones don't dictate it to sprout some nanners. That's the problem you never know if it's the stress causing them or some survival mechanism that got turned on. I've got a Black Widow pheno that will shoot out nanners if you let it go too long and she's going bye-bye soon. God I hate those things .

Looks like she is just about ready. I took these pics this morning. I also took a pic of my light setup. Full diy but it seems to work good for a total of 50w. I think my main problem is light leaks. I don't have a tent yet (my next investment) and I'm only using a cheap cupboard and I dare say there maybe some light getting in.

Ok so I thought I would give a quick update. After waiting almost 2 months for my ufo to arrive(first one sent out by EMS but never left China, returned to sender, so I pay another $30 to get it sent via fedex) it finally turned up yesterday. I set it up and plug it in. It was a bit too blue for my liking but I left it on. After lights out I opened my door to notice some of the leds were still dimly lit. So I unpluged it until the morning. Come morning I plug it in and pop. It looks like one of the leds have blown, now the whole light is not working, just the fan. FFS. I'm just waiting for a reply now about what to do. Here are some pics of the light.

On another note the AK finished and I ended up with around 7-10g dried.

Holy shyte JJ what happened? Good thing those Zeners were there to protect your diode. NOT. It's a shame but that AK is gonna make ya feel better I bet. Hope it works out for ya.

So i heard back from the manufacter and after talking to there tech guys it is apparently a defective circuit board. They are going to replace the light and ship it to me free of charge. I am wondering now if i would be able to get another circuit board, strip all the leds off and put them on the new board whether it will work. I can get a pcb that is a 20 led board that i can probably get to fit inside the ufo but what i am wondering if i use that will the driver be too powerful because it was powering 25 leds. I believe the driver is a 50-100w driver with a max 90w output, 650mA output.

220mm OD. What size is the board? Those two PCB's would power 24 LED's.

That would make 25. No idea how easy it would be to attach all these to the heat sink inside the UFO. That might not be necessary, though. You might be able to just replace the blown LED and simply rewire some things. You'd probably need a multimeter to troubleshoot everything, however. But hey, you're getting a replacement for free, this could be an opportunity to change the spectrum such as trading out Blue LED's for Cool White's, or something. Might not be the worst thing that ever happened.

Pretty soon you're gonna be rollin' in LED's, sheesh.

Well at least they're gonna do something about it, so :hump:. If you can find out the forward voltage of the diodes you want to use, that would help to see if you can use that driver. They'll know. Something tells me for you to be careful since besides powering the 25 LEDs it was powering those Zener diodes. Bottom line, like Bumping has pointed out, is you have a lot of options with what you can to do with those diodes, like you don't have to put them back in the UFO, you could just mount them on some aluminum and run them like that.

Hey bumping, i had a look at these ones last night. If i want to keep it in the ufo i can only go 130mm diameter. Its pretty small for the amount of leds. I might just mount them on a pcb and just use the internals and not the case. My multimeter is on the way so i can troubleshoot before i tear it apart. Might just be a dodgy driver or led. Soon find out.

Got my 10w flood bro, and the grow chip should be here Any day... it says the white chip puts out 1000 lumens and the grow chip only 500.. Not sure If I should swap it out out or not?
