Over-watered, now one is ACTING like it is over-watered

Morning update

Things are a bit weird as of yesterday, it's like it started a chain reaction. The youngest is now curling it's leaves under. I BARELY watered the 2 that weren't bad yesterday and just woke up to water them all today.

Although the injured one seems to look terrible it seems like it's recovering today as the leaves are finally rising back up.

I am really starting to get discouraged.

As of late, I raised the lights a few inches to try to promote a reaching effect in hopes of continuous healthy growing.

Yes i would look into what soil you are using by the look of the stems ,
but to be honest dude i would say those two seedlings will pull through, the new set of leaves coming up look relatively ok and thats what
matters, and always best to underwater than over water to be honest, because when the soil is dry the root growth
accelerates as the roots grow to find moisture/nutrients in the soil.

Best of luck for your grow, i have been in that position and its no fun at all.
keep tokin

I use organic soil with no time released nutes, and tap water for the first few weeks. The over watering can sure be a problem, my trouble was that I would use the finger test to see if it needed water. It would be dry at the top of the soil so I would water them, but fail to see the bottom of the pot was soaked and the top was dry but because of the lack of holes on the bottom of the pot making it hard for water to drain out and good soil should help with this type if problem. Pick up the pot if it feels really light then water, but if its dry on top and feels like its its full of water then check to make sure your drain holes are not clogged

Thanks for the responses guys.

The soil I am using was highly recommended from a hydroponic shop who, also, specialize in soil development. They recommended I use Manna Mix and it seemed as though they were thriving on it before. I ordered nutes online but was told I wouldn't have to worry about nutes for the first 3 weeks. The nutes I have on order is a 7-9-5 Dyna-Gro 8oz blend. So far the pH levels are around 6.2. Each plant has a 45 watt bulb over them, 6500k daylight. They dangle about 3 to 5 inches away from the plants. They are all in a mylar grow tent and the peat pot mediums are sitting in their own 5 gallon pots filled with the same soil, Manna Mix.

I KNOW I over watered them 2 days ago, I know that for sure and am slapping myself in the face now for doing that. I was just watering them once a day or if the soil felt dry, I was sticking my finger in to test moisture.

I am a bit discouraged now and do feel like I can't do this. I know this is a bit harsh to say but I do care about the health of my plants and seeing them withering and shit is really pissing me off.

dude! do not give up. read instead slapping yourself. we all make mistakes and have harsh time fixing them. you learned ur lesson in a hard way, but now u know better than those who did not have this problem. you can do it, but patience goes a long way here. its not like you will fix it in one day. +rep for motivationfor me it looks if not overwater, then overfert. maybe the soil is a bit too strong for the seedlings. do you have nutes and their quantity listing? good luck

Thanks man, I am beating myself up a bit right now.

My soil can apparently carry a plant for 7 weeks. http://kylekushman.com/mannamix-reviews-marijuana-nutrients

I have nutes on the way but am told by people on grasscity that my soil doesn't need any nutes, not until vegging and or flowering. I don't know what to believe. I get new information at any place I look.

The nutes I ordered are 7-9-5 Dyna-Gro but I don't think I will use them. Another person on grasscity thinks I burned them but I backed the lights off by 6 inches and haven't watered. I know it looks bad but some people keep telling me that if they are still standing then they are still living.

yeah, go to some swamp and check on some dead trees - they're standing ;)
they are still alive, at least two of them, you can keep them 1 inch away from cfl, as long as a fan is blowing air to remove heat. if theres no fan, 6 inches might be too hot.. as long as you have some green in the very middle, you know that there 's still some life in there ;) you will not need nutes for at least another 2 weeks i believe, but later on if you can, get dynagro folliage pro, and mag pro. if you have money, get protekt as well... those are three ferts that can drive you all the way through the grow. i wish i would live somewhere where they sell them... i suggest not to use the one u have with high p, indoor soil does not need that much of P. unless plant will tell you otherwise.

It may be because of my fan after all. They aren't really getting cooled off like they're supposed to. Maybe if I just adjust the fan they will be good?

yeah man, do that, try to evaluate the temp on the top of mj, your aim - 70-80. going over 85 is a bad thing. also carefull with the fan, try to put a fan in an angle so it would blow the heat off but not bend the stems. they have anough stress alr.

malaka, you're living in Rhode island? :)) that's pretty hot in there isn't it? I was around the same time there last year.. it was unbearable.. not a single cloud lol and 86+ outside... if not for the wind I would have died in there..

Indeed, my friend. It can get blistering here but the tent in the basement seems to stay fairly consistent at around 78 - 80

Yea you can save an over watered plant but you must let a good amount of oxygen reach the roots again. Keep at it bro and get those experience points going, it's the only way to learn. I'm not ashamed to say I ruined many many of beans when I first started, to overwatering. I highly doubt I could go work at Microsoft or any job I'm not familiar with and just prevail right through it. It takes time and patience to become good at something.

a nice thing to use if over watered is hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)

have a read:

http://joemacho.hubpages.com/hub/Hydrogen-Peroxide-for-Plants

have safed a plant for me, the normal 3% from the local drug store works just fine, a few table spoons in a gallon of water, then water the over watered plant until you see run off, with in a day or two your plant will bounce back
Very very interesting! My peat pots are in 5 gallon pots so it might be a bit impossible to see run off. Any suggestions?

best suggestion is to use Cup`s in the future, hard to over water and make the plant grow a nice root net in the center for the final pot, I use a 1 gallon after that then a 3 and then either a 5 or 7 gallon for flowering (a week before)

a small seedling in a big pot is a bad combo IMO you cant really water it probably, need to water with a cup of water and then add on as day`s go by, move out to the side`s so you make the seedling reach out its root`s to collect water and fill the pot

over watering is actually not to much water, it is lack of oxygen in the medium, old stalled water can make a medium like soil almost with out oxygen for the root`s and they need it, as you can read in the article, it wont take much more then 24 hours with out oxygen to start a root rot

if it was me I would still try with a bit of H2O2 on the worse looking one, maybe half a te spoon in a big cup of water, the H2O2 will make it evaporate in a day, you will be amazed, don't over do it tho, once the plant seem to have bounce back and your in control of the medium agin, stop, a few times after with a few drop`s of H2O2 will insure any root rot is removed and you can go one growing a healthy plant
