This, in my opinion, is the reason why white nationalism exists. I think white people are tired of being scapegoated and being held in contempt for celebrating any type of white heritage.
Trust me, I have felt the effects of racism before and I'm a white guy. I grew up 2 miles from the mexican border and I was a minority in my neighborhood. I also have been guilty of "white flight" where my mother and I moved to a neighborhood that was more white. Does that make me racist? NO. People naturally segregate by race and culture. It's nature. However, this does not make any group racist for wanting to be around their own "kind".
I think if you want to talk race it would be beneficial to look at the WHOLE picture and not just snapshots of atrocities that cross your path on the internet.
You mean like historically?
LOL.
oops, your privilege is showing...
So you go from misdiagnosing the cause of racial strife, to showing your privilege, to telling me to view the whole picture. You have just demonstrated that you can not see the forest from the trees.
I can appreciate that you want me to not be so spurned, and want to help me find common ground with the rest of the people I argue with, but you ought to understand, that when my radical ideas become less radical, I will adopt even more radical ideas. I'll always be a black sheep and I will never fit into what people call normal.
One thing is certain, White privilege is a result of white supremacy, colonialism, capitalism and fascism. It is not nature. It is the result of centuries of bloody wars and oppression against the world. It is the result of genocide.
"As I write, highly civilized human beings are flying overhead, trying to kill me.
They do not feel any enmity against me as an individual, nor I against them. They are ‘only doing their duty’, as the saying goes. Most of them, I have no doubt, are kind-hearted law-abiding men who would never dream of committing murder in private life. On the other hand, if one of them succeeds in blowing me to pieces with a well-placed bomb, he will never sleep any the worse for it. He is serving his country, which has the power to absolve him from evil." ~George Orwell
