WTF?!!? Fucking spammers

I couldn't have explained trimming in a scrog better myself SouP. A common misconception is that leaves make buds, while somewhat true leaves simpy provide photosynthesis, allowing the plant to convert nutes and sugars into useable food. In a scrog, the level canopy allows for much more light exposure to fan leaves, allowing you to get by with fewer leaves. And like you said, it's all a learning process and finding that balance point.

You are doing incredible mate. That mastadon looks so dense, and I think she is going to plump up in the next few weeks. Peace

Thanks for confirming. Ive looked into pruning extensively over the past few years and its seems its always going to be a hot seat kinda issue... I see both sides. Most of the people who advocate against defoliation state that actual flower sites dont photosynthesize barely at all and that rather a redistribution of beneficial ATP the plant will slow its general processes to heal damaged fan leaves. What I know from my personal experience is that I see growth spurts after most of my pruning and I think if done with reserve it can prove useful. Although to me it does feel wrong to prune as much as I have this run I think I will find a balance in the middle, I usually do.

^^^^ - I seen it there stoney and thought the same. It was a huge post!!!
Ya I requested they take it out of my thread... told them they didnt want stone to have to get in the middle;) Think RIU was getting hit pretty hard with that crap over the night, looks like they did a pretty good job of cleaning that shit up though!:)

Soup again thanks for the kindness. The bottles will be covered soon, been busy trying to get the space finished. I think the matching brass fixtures look classic. and why tear them apart if u can use them as is...told ya more of a re-engineer. For my first try, I'm doing ok, I think...I'm pleased so far and am having fun tending to my projects each day.

I don't know about the plants themselves, found some bag seed from Florida, quite old I must say, but most of them germed, I seem to have a lot of 3 leaf and 1 leaf plants...

I did try something today, I am able to move my scrog completely just slide in and slide out...it's been a great way to weave the back as well as the front. Because all 4 plants are in the same pot, I put moving men sliders under the legs and slide her out, just like I planned....The pot itself has a built in water res. It holds like 4 gallon, I have not seen roots reach the res yet...so I'm still top watering, and I have been making sure I water almost every inch of the perlite. And I upgraded some of the bulbs and added the mylar on the door.

The door opens up fully, so it's 5 feet long. I added hinges and it opens and closes like a gate. There is plenty of room for me to move stuff in and out. I call it the new space File 13, Might want to throw it out??? LOL It's 36 inches wide, and 4 foot tall. I sealed all the door today after putting up the mylar, now it's almost light proofed.

I also have a custom stool to sit on and keep my tools in... The Hempy bottles actually go in a window box, But I was using them all at the time. But they moved in there Thursday and I changed the lights Friday, so I have not finished everything yet...Thanks for your compliments and confidence.

OH yes, my watering system, I use a gallon pitcher with a small desktop fountain pump and a long hose, works great, just plug it in and i can put it under the canopy for full coverage, I have about 4-6 inches under the canopy. Later I can use this system to fill the reserve.

I lose, You win....

So, I have pulled the 1k:sad: It needed to be done. Temps at canopy were starting to push towards 90, I was starting to see signs of heat stress and I had a ridiculous amount of air being pulled through there already with no re course. In addition, I couldn't justify running 200watts/sq ft with such low production numbers. Honestly I think the intensity was too much, Im not seeing normal growth patterns in the erb and Im hoping that I can still get something out of this experiment:-o

So in advertant experiment number 2 begins... Flowering for the last month with a bare bulb 400w MH! Temps are sitting at 76 at top of canopy which Im much more comfortable with. Early prediction... I think the buds will start spitting out new white pistils and start to pack on more weight than they would have with the HPS.

I did a res change and dropped the PPM to just over 1000 to help with the transition back to MH be less stressful.

I cant wait to finish this up and set up in the full space at this point, just need to order some beans soon!:-P

Thanks for stoppin in, sorry we couldnt take this to the end but at least we found some limits to push!~S0uP

This effort deserves a round of applause. Well done showing off the Mastodon Kush's potential mate, off to go place an order right now.

Soup I think it' working our perfectly, that's why we test...U did not lose, u just got unpredicted results...Thomas Edison said he did not fail 200 times while inventing the light bulb, he just found 200 way's it did not work.

Damn soup! Heat is the bane for all growers, and you Cali boys get it like a kick in the balls. Still amazing job on your scrog man, I've really enjoyed watching these girls fill out.

Soup, i know the feeling all to well of having more then enough light and not being able to use it! But 76 degrees with 400w you should stll be able to push out some juicy nugs. Im subbed anyway those buds look nice and dank!

I know man... but I think I might get higher out put with the 400w and as youve seen with your grow Im sure the trich production will be increased! Im gonna put the glass back in the hood this week and put the light fairly close for the next few weeks then take it out for the last few!

Thanks bud! I think this strain actually has more to offer than we have even seen with this grow! Im glad you saw through the lining, Ill be running them in a flood table next under MUCH more stable conditions to see how far I can push her. I actually think an SOG table grow would be an impressive thing to behold with her!

Thanks for stoppin bye WC! That is my attitude exactly! Im not sure what was going on with the intensity and bud formation? Looks like quality hasnt suffered though!;) and with this being a little Hobby/Personal grow thats what really counts!

Thanks man! I really appreciate the pointers gettin her even along the way! Despite the concession on lighting I have still learned alot with this run! I hope you stick around man cause Im gonna be turning that 5x5 into a full split room Scrog! I WILL NEED HELP;)
BTW I think The heat was secondary to too much intensity, Im trying to get research on the subject but limited information is available it seems.

I sure hope so man, thanks for subbin up! Still looking to pull some good quality nugz outta that little tent!

So here are some pics of the ladies, lookin pretty good still I hope the shock back to MH is minimal! Starting to see some real color change here mid way through! Also an update on the the little DWC project (Notice operation saveahoe on the right? ;)) These should be ready in a month to be put into the flood table and flowered from there! Ive added some Aquashield to there res and put the pH down to 5.6 seems they like it better, although Ive been trying to keep the temps under control they still rise to 75 every day...just not all the time!;) Obviously, if I were running DWC or UC all the time I would care more about temps and put together a little chiller setup but....;)

The quality is going to be through the roof matebongsmilie. Never mind about losing the 1000w, they will finish just nicely under the 400w. Your babies are looking nice and strong, ready for the next round!!!
