Perlite Question

I have a bunch of MG Perlite that I bought like a dumbass not thinking it had actual MG in it. How do you like that? Can I use this with my FFOF and FFHF without worrying about overfeeding? I don't plan to feed during blooming much, if at all. The perlite is .04-.01-.06. I am blooming in a week and have 3 bags each of FFOF and FFHF that I want to get rid of. I may be switching to Pro Mix from here on out so that I can control everything. I am also going to run some of the FFOF with MG Organic Soil to test this way out too. I know this works well, as AimAim uses this mixture of FFOF and MG Organic 50-50 with some really nice results. Thanks everyone. I appreciate your input.

Hey GG, think about it this way: very low percentage, and you will likely be adding only a small amount in any mix you have. Even if you are going with 33% perlite in your mix, that would mean the percentage goes down as much (Multiply .33 x the NPK). Its really low.

It's hard to buy any soil at the home stores anymore that MG hasn't fucked with and now perlite. We don't have FF soil around here so you have to buy what you can and adapt.

it pisses me off to no end. home depot and all the rest suck serious ass because all they carry is MG tainted shit. it's so fucking stupid even for people who use MG to grow flower and vegetables......like how the hell are you NOT going to over fert ANYTHING you grow if MG is in every single god damn amendment you use? its fucking ludicrous. I fucking HATE big business. they always turn everything to shit.

had to get that off my chest.

I fucked up and did that same shit and bought 2 bags of MG perlite. I took the shit back before I opened it and ended up paying too much for a real bag of perlite at the hydro store.

Kinda funny though, I ran all over the fuckin place and home depot was the only one that had chunky vermiculite.

I learned something new today thanks to this thread. I never knew mg perlite had trace amounts of their product in it. I use something else but in a pinch I have used it in the past. Thanks for helping this old guy learn something.

Well actually… OK to better explain it, if your bag of Perilite has a billion [1,000,000,000] pieces of Perilite in it, and you dumped it in a big pile, and you colored all the NPK pieces you wouldn’t even see them… 40,000 of them would contain N… 10,000 P… and 60,000 pieces of K…

That’s nothing of a % of the total weight… when I see trace amounts in anything, like these: .04-.01-.06. I just do not worry about it at all….

…. I use a Perilite 25% / Vermiculite 25% / MG Seed Starter Soil … for my clones, and I get 100%… every time….Haters will be haters, and lots do on MG…

Good Luck
