Would it hurt anything?

Would it be beneficial to put a 400w light directly under the plant as well as the 400w directly above? Just wondering because I have a spare 400w setup and she's in her 3rd week of 12-12 and she doesn't look like she's slowing down. I just started to do some lst to keep her from getting too close to the light. Light is already as high as it can go. So I thought I'd put one directly under, unless you veteran growers tell me otherwise.

Might cause heat issues. Might make you go blind every time you look in your tent or whatever, too.

I would say just set it up overhead and double the lumen output instead of putting it underneath which might burn things.

I wonder if leaves get light burn on the underside easier than on the top. Anyone know?
Possibly, but regardless they do not absorb nearly as much light from the undersides of the leaves, so most of the increased effect would be from light that bounces off of walls and reaches the tops of leaves, where most of the chlorophyll is.

Yeah, it makes much more sense to put them above the plants, or maybe side light them. There is such a thing as too much light, too.

Two 400 watts are not too much light. Honestly it is very very rare that growers run into too much light in indoor grows. And when it does happen its multiple 1k watts involved
