Question. Can I stop My Ladies from Flowering with Solar Lights?

I don’t have electricity anymore since I am now on side-of-mountain…. so My Question is: If I have Mothers Outside in my little Greenhouse (yet to build) do U guys think that a Solar Light (one of those lantern thingys u put in the ground, for garden paths etc) could be used to stop them from Flowering?

If so… when Would I need to start using it? I am in South Spain….

So would It be at the End of August I should Have a Light near the Plants to Stop them from Flowering on me………?

I assume you'd have to find really good solar lights to keep them from flowering. Usual garden solar lamps aren't powerful enough

A friend of mine last year has 4 plants in his balcony & he had a street lamp in his other side of his street(3-4 meters away). Last time i had seen those plants was middle/late Sept. & none one of them had a single flowering sign. Now I guess those lamps are stronger but i don't think you can't match their lighting with some of those solar lights. From what i remember it wasn't that bright in his balcony at all. At first i couldn't find why the hell they won't start flowering until i ask in a forum & told me to look about that possibility.

.... I remember reading somewhere on the forum... someone stopped their plants from flowering with a Torch! ...
waving the torch at the plants (manually) at nite....... LOL

Surely if a torch will do - a couple of lanterns will also...............

Does anyone know the "scientific" amount of light needed to stop the flowering phase??????????

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm (run outta weeeeeeeed now..... mite be going mad!)

Making an assumption, if you are keeping mothers during the flowering season, then it seems that you would be keeping them till the following years grow, and without electricity, it would indicate that the climate would therefore be suitable to keep the plant growing all year around. If that is the case then why not just flower out the mothers and then re-veg them?

I could re-veg........

I wanna know if Solar Lights will cut it....... coz if they won't cut it....... then I can't use the lights to Re-veg..

I have the plants in the ground.... I want clones of all my Best Growers" ....... an I wanna keep these clones as the Mothers!

So I want to stop them from flowering all year round! and I want to clone from them! ...

So will solar lights do?

They say a crack of light coming into a "grow tent" can upset the plants an stop them from flowering........

so surely solar lamps (which r getting more powerful (those LED things r mental)) will do????????????????????????????

I've been reading about solar lights and marijuana. From what i can gather each led in the solar lights needs to be at least 1w and to stop flower you'd need at least 20w per square foot to keep them from flowering. Hope this helps a bit

I just purchased at Lowe's these new solar lights which are very bright, last all night and come in spot lights so you can direct them right at your plant. I'd bet they would work, but you probably have to get them online. Good luck

Remember low levels of light will not keep a plant from flowering.. They get low light every night with the moon.. So as long as your light provides more light than the moon you should be ok.. beware of shadows though.. a lower branch might be shaded too much and not get ample light and start to flower. Maybe a cheap solar panel from harborfreight would be in your interest and figure a battery back up(possibly a car battery) Hook up to an inverter and set up a couple of small cfl's. You only need to keep them on long enough to inhibit the flowering process.
