Need your help, RIU

Hello RIU, i have a slight concern, I'm sure you guys can help me out.

I'm a CFL grower, it's not my first time growing, been doing it for a little while, but am still open to a lot of things i might need to learn. Today I've noticed something on one of my white widow plants that i haven't noticed before, take a look at this picture:



this is in week 5 of flowering about now, it's one of the lower down flowers, but you might have noticed that the flower has all the hairs white but there's a very small flower over there that has two hairs, completely red. should this be any concern to me? is this normal? if it isn't, what am i suppose to do?

I assume you're referring to the teardrop shaped protuberance underneath the juvenile bud on the right. It's just a female calyx. Very common for them to pop up at the node sites. The reason it's more prominent than the the others is that these sites are where the plant first displays sex, whether male or female.

Hi, Dankfactory and thanks for the reply. I think I didn't express myself correctly in the post. I mean, i know it's a female calyx, my concern is the color on the hairs. The rest of the flowers have clean white hairs whilst this calyx here has red hairs. The only reason I am concerned about this is because i remember a picture (which I have also found around here, fortunately) and here it is

That little calyx over there looks like the last one in the picture, implying I should have harvested... Anyway, I'm not going to worry about it. I'm just in week 5 of flowering, so I have at least 3 weeks to go anyway. Thanks again for your reply, if you have any more precious and valuable information feel free to dump it

Since these are the first calyxes that formed on the plant, they're also the first to mature. Their terpene profiles are also more developed than other less mature calyxes on the plant. If you're curious to what your end product is going to smell like, they are a better indicator than pinching less mature buds on the plant. Sort of a sneak peak at what you're getting, as it relates to scent
