Some help on the different stages of growing?

Hi guys, a freind of mine bought some crappy bud a few weeks back, it was only cheap, and looked quite meaty.

So we got it back to my house and got it out the tissue paper it was wrapped in, a good 60 seeds fell out. ~bummer

After calling another dealer and getting trashed, the idea emerged. I grabbed some pots, some ordinary fertilizer i had out back, got out my ol' trusty flourescent lamp, and here I am a few weeks and 12 inches later... maybe not such a bummer after all

Ive read quite a lot of reviews and Ive found that alot tend to go either into way to much detail, or just not enough.

Im trying to keep my cost to a very minimum, Im going for a second flourescent lamp. and the grow space is an old clothing cupboard.

What i need from you guys is your wonderful growing knowledge, of how stages in the plants life should be dealt with, preferably keeping to this format for ease of reading and understanding - not much of a grower but ive been hell of a heavy smoker :P ;

Germination - I simply threw them into the pots and waited.

Vegetive stage - my tallest plant is now 12 inches, the other 3 not far behind at 8 - 10 inches. - ive been giving them 24/0 photoperiod.

Transition to Flowering stage - I read somewhere on this forum about 24hr - 72hr dark period before hitting 12/12 photoperiod. without any extras would this be viable for me?

Flowering stage - obviously 12/12 - but is there any little hints or tricks I should know to increase my little crop?

Also, can i enter flowering stage at any point in the plants life? The tallest plant up close smells like an eigth of cheese bud, haha!

I only have around 2.5 ft space, 3 at a stretch, so im guessing now is around the time to transition, if they get too big, I understanding topping is an option (which im guessing is chopping the top off to stop vertical growth) but this hurts the plant also?

Thank you very much in advance,

Smithy.

hey smithy.
you dont need a transition to flower-not required
if youve only got 2.5 to 3 ft of height and its 12 inches now you should probably flower it soon bc they double or more during flowering
also topping is not good to do while already flowering-cut off main cola
some people top the plant right before flowering, so that could be an option.
good luck bro:joint:

sounds like youll grow some killer bud. let all the dickbags on here know when the seedlings have 4 leaves on them. theyll tell you youre doing a killer job. then theyll tell u about how much better their plants are with 5000 watts of hps cuz thats what everybody and their mother haszdxzzzzzzzzzzzzddzzd.

What do you mean 4 leaves? my biggest plant is throwing out 5 fingers to a palm on top.

Ive took some pics, of it, for if anyone would like to mock, praise or advise me. he(hopefully she XD) did have a stick and tie for support, but i figured if it stand on its own, take it off...

the plant in the left pic has some extream streaching. when you put it into flowering it wont beable to hold itself up with the weight of the buds it grows. what type of light are you using? how close is that light? if using cfl light it should be 1-3 inches from the top of the plant. do you have a fan in with your plants? feeding them any nutes yet?

Im using a standard flourescent desk lamp, its about 2-4 inches away from the top.

Im not feeding any nutrients, this wasnt aimed a being a major operation just a little fun. The plant on the left and right are the same plant, Its only 12 inches tall. not fan either.

Edit: if you can see some notches on the picture, its where ive chopped off the starter leaves, and i took off a couple a little higher that were dropping badly due to lack of light, is this the stretching your refering to, or the thinning of the stalk ?

you plants are stretching for the light, making them grow up instead of branching out.
position you lights as close as possible, and a fan would strengthen your stem.
topping would allow some branches to develop

you need to get some more lights get some soril cfls from walmart orkmart for side ligyting and don't take off any more of the lower brantches if they need light add more cfls for side lightingkeep them 1-2 inches from the plant.
