So this grow is prompted by the fact that 3 years ago I moved from a medical state to a state that's medical program is way behind the curve and unfortunately my conditions aren't recognized. I've been buying street buds for the last 3 years but have recently found myself with only 1 hookup, and he charges $50 for 2.8 of upper grade mids. Unfortunately this has become way to expensive. So I have decided to quit smoking until I can produce my own. I have a 150 watt HPS in a cool tube to use. The dimensions of my box are based on my cool tube being 20" long and requiring 30" to be set up and also by not wanting to go under 40 watts per sqf. I'm on a budget and plan on using a 6" inline fan from Home Depot to cool the light. The fan is rated at 160 cfm. I will start by pulling air from the cab through the cool tube and out through a homemade carbon filter. When I get a little more money and the temp goes up I plan on getting a better fan for the light and running fresh air through the tube and using the the Home Depot fan as an exhaust. I will have a passive intake hole in the bottom. I will be growing organically in soil. Not sure the mix or nutes yet, I will have to shop around for the most economical option. Right now I have 40 beans in water. They come from 2 sources. 16 came from some Mexican beast that had a pretty good sativa head high. In honor of the best busboy I've ever worked with I named this strain don Miguel. The other 24 came from a half oz of brick an Egyptian friend of mine got. He would always tell people he had a bomb vest on so not to mess with him so I decided to name this strain the suicide bomber. The reason I am popping so many beans is that I'm not sure what I want to do with them. Maybe a sog from seed, or pick the best female specimen and clone for sog or a scrog with the couple best. Getting smoke quick is a high priority as I won't be smoking until this grow is complete, but the best herb possible is even higher. I started the beans tonight and will be working on my cabinet tomorrow and finishing Sunday or Monday. I will be taking pictures of the build and updating as the beans sprout. Wish me luck. Feedback, suggestions and questions welcome.
