If you can remove the flowers without removing healthy leaves, you have my blessing! I wouldn't bother as I always do a second harvest (and get as much as an ounce or two additional)....but to each his own.

I too am focused on growing fewer but larger plants, a term I coined SOB (sea of bush).

Yeah, when I started cultivating cannabis, California's SB420 was still being pushed as law rather than the guideline it was written to be. My legal plant count was very limited, so I had to make each one produce as much as possible. It felt like it was killing me, and my mobility was decreasing... kinda self defeating when cannabis is being used to help pain and immobility. I came very close to throwing in the towel and going back to robbing Peter to pay Paul for my herb. Then the CA courts ruled that SB420 is indeed a guideline and not a law, and my plant count was no longer limited. (Hubby is in the medical field and the military, so I have to observe all MMJ laws or risk destroying his life.) Once the limit of SB420 was removed, I embarked on SOG to see if I could feasibly continue growing. It worked. It is still very painful for me to tend to my plants, but SOG lightens my large jobs, none of which take me more than an hour a day; usually half. Now my jacuzzi and a vape will help me recover more quickly after my nursery chores, rather than an entire week or two ruined from harvesting one plant. Trying to provide for our friend in the final stages of cancer makes it even more important to me that I do whatever I can to keep on growing. I didn't want to remove leaves, so only removed bud shoots instead, and it has been working. I hate waste, which is why I use the pruned shoots for cloning. So while you do a second harvest to avoid waste, I clone with the same shoots. :)

P.S. I wasn't seeking your blessing. I just saw that someone referred to removing bud sites without removing leaves, and that you responded about removal of healthy leaves, and in pointing that out, I did my typical "thinking out loud" typing. lol

I saw in another thread that your wife suffers from RA. Though my condition's core cause is neurological, it also gives the gift of rheumatological ailments. I understand your wife's condition too well. I wish the best for her health and quality of life, as well as for you as her spouse and likely her caregiver to some level or another. I know that to say it is not easy is an understatement and then some!

Yep, RA is a very crippling disease. Seems everytime I look another one of your fingers or toes has gone crooked. Next repair is to a hammer toe for her.

Good luck with your health issues! It aint easy!

Is that right?

Some of us get enough pot from one gardening session a year where we don't HAVE to bust our ass on a continous basis.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it......
See I think this sums it up for the most part. Its all what anyone of us has the ability to do to obtain a personal goal. Some have the ability to grow enough for their needs by doing one or two big grows a year. Having that option seams to me to lead to growing large natural(not pruned or scroged or what ever the fuck you want to do to manipulate a plant). Some people have space restraints and will try other methods. Like let's say flood tables packed to the brim with small lollipopped plants. This may allow for more harvests in a year. Both could lead to similar results just in differnt ways. In the past 9 months I have tried both methods or actually three. One cycle I did not touch one leaf. The next I trimmed the lower half and the last I removed mainly( and by mainly id say 90%) bud sites. My best results were the last by trimming just the bud sites. Now I'm not saying its the best way to do it but so far fir me it seams to be the best way to suit my needs. Now if I had the space I would definitely go with the monsters. But with my space restrictions I can't attain my yearly goal with that. I'm pretty sure we can all agree that the biggest and usually best bud comes from the main cola. That's why I'm now trying a bunch of clones packed much tighter on my table then the scrog obviously is my next venture. I will trim the bud sites only and see if it suits my needs. Space is an issue for me I wish it wasn't. If it works for you its right in my book. As long as the fruit is dank as hell and it lasts me as long as I need it I will be more then happy I'll be perfectly medicated. That's my rant. Thanks to some original Amnesia. Which was scroged and sites were clipped and asmuch leaf was meet and is dank as fuck. So good day everyone.
