Yeah that's the plan man, I'm pretty sure that it will work perfectly...
ok, so what you think? the revised scrog net View attachment 2690841View attachment 2690842View attachment 2690843View attachment 2690844 somehow I doubt i'm gonna be able to fill the screen which leads me to my 2 questions, soz if I asked already, im a stoner and I prob forgot. but, what is the absolute lowest the net can be and when do I have to stop training them through the screen and let them go, is beginning of week 3 into 12/12 ok or too long???I was actually going to suggest something like reducing the size of those squares by half with some string but hadn't gotten around to it, anyways man sounds like a good idea...
Hey Dr. The scrog can be any height from the bucket, mostly personal preference, but I like to shoot for around 5-8in. This leaves you enough room to work underneath the screen and helps cut down on veg time over a higher screen. As far as training, always pull the tops back down under the screen and then position them over horizontally. I would never weave the branches thru the screen holes. The screen is in place to basically hold the plant at one height, just keep pulling the heads down and moving them over to fill empty spaces.ok, so what you think? the revised scrog net View attachment 2690841View attachment 2690842View attachment 2690843View attachment 2690844 somehow I doubt i'm gonna be able to fill the screen which leads me to my 2 questions, soz if I asked already, im a stoner and I prob forgot. but, what is the absolute lowest the net can be and when do I have to stop training them through the screen and let them go, is beginning of week 3 into 12/12 ok or too long???
thanks mate, it's good to know I can get it down that low.. yeah i'm pretty much savvy on the training method, etc. I've read loads lol. it's just my first go at a scrog. is there a deadline where I have to stop training/pulling back through??? the longer I have, the more of the screen I can fill. on the same note, the lower I can take the screen, the more of it I will fill. ie I would probably be able to fill 30 holes now to start, leaving 30 less to fill in same amount of time. the net is 10" above the pots in the pics, 3 or 4 inches lower and I could already begin pulling them back through. I only have until wed at the latest before I have to flip them tho I had planned on it being Monday, less than 48hrs away. if however I can still be pulling back through on day 17/18 of 12/12, then I have an extra few days there too. thanks for ur input guys, I appreciate it.Hey Dr. The scrog can be any height from the bucket, mostly personal preference, but I like to shoot for around 5-8in. again, thanks for the input and soz if I come across as half backward but its my first scrog, umpteenth grow but 1st scrog. they were all topped about a week ago and were topped 2 weeks before that also, plus I lst'd/pinched a lot of the larger shoots on all of them and lst'd one to the max (pinched her, topped her, tied her down, lollipopped her). with ah well, im gonna go ahead and give it a go anyways, what will be will be. hope you don't mind if I stop by for some advice now and then....I don't even know where to begin after i lost all that so I'm just gonna simplify, you have 2 options pretty much, you can leave the screen where it is and allow your plants to fill it in, or you can top your plants once or twice and possibly lower the screens a bit, i know you are on a limited time line but man i think you might be missing the point of scrog a little bit, vertical growth is good but its the enemy of the scrog, when you are filling in a screen typically you start from the middle and work your way out, this works great when you have a double topped plant because it is capable of growing in 4 directions at once, however it doesn't work so great when you have a single growing tip with a screen that is very close, because it would be almost impossible to get a full even canopy out of it. IMO it would be best to top the plants 2 times each and lower the screen, sure you will be losing out on some height but you will be increasing the amount of growing tips and you will be bulking up the outer branches which will eventually be what is filling in the scrog. The time that you choose to stop training is really up to you, there are 3 different factors involved in this self imposed dead line, lighting coverage, symmetry of the canopy, and the distance from the canopy to the bulbs, what it all boils down to is that you want the canopy as even as possible with the best possible lighting coverage for each bud in that canopy, once you have achieved that its time to stop training.
Glad to hear that shaggn, i didn't think that you could judge 2 different strains on the same time line i was just curious as to how big of a difference there would be between the plants considering all the changes in my grow room, hempy, mylar, calmag, etc etc thanks for stopping in man. Can't judge a different strain on a timeline, most vary when they decide to crank it on. You will notice over time that some crank it on early where others don't till later in the phase.
Ahh sorry man i didn't realize you had done so much training, i was just trying to explain why i thought it would be a bad idea to lower the screens with out training, but again i didn't think you had topped or trained at all, feel free to stop in anytime you want man the more the merrier as far as I'm concerned and i personally love talking about the subject whether they are my plants or some one else's so feel free to stop in. As far as learning about the scrog goes i know what you mean man, I'm on my second and am only just now really figuring out what I'm doing thanks to stone, if you want to see how its done and haven't checked out his op you should really check out his journal. As far as lowering your screen goes i say go for it man, as you know they stretch a good bit in the intro to flowering and it looks like you have a decent plant to screen ratio so I'm sure it will fill in nicely...again, thanks for the input and soz if I come across as half backward but its my first scrog, umpteenth grow but 1st scrog. they were all topped about a week ago and were topped 2 weeks before that also, plus I lst'd/pinched a lot of the larger shoots on all of them and lst'd one to the max (pinched her, topped her, tied her down, lollipopped her). with ah well, im gonna go ahead and give it a go anyways, what will be will be. hope you don't mind if I stop by for some advice now and then....
hey stone, how's about giving the advice to MEEEE now instead.... lol.Wow! Why was I ever giving you advice about scrogging! You are a scrog jedi dude.
Lol man not really, my white russian came out very very well because it was perfectly suited for it but my blue cheese was a fucking mess, it kept stretching and i basically had to wrap it under the screen to keep it from out growing the white russian, what i ended up with was like 2 o/z of pop corn bud off the blue cheese...Wow! Why was I ever giving you advice about scrogging! You are a scrog jedi dude.
