The French Cannoli` Hash Thread

I do press them quite thin but not as thin as possible (which would not be very practical to roll after). I want to make sure that every trichomes goes through the heating and pressing process, that is also why I press flat 2 to 5 times all my cannoli

Have you ever tried there cone mesh bags ? seems they would be a pain in the ass to use

Yes I did, I bought one and that is how I met Stephanie. The cone are not convenient because it is a pain to get your trichomes from such a small space, also that metal part is not practical. I went from there to asking Stephanie to make me the one I really wanted.

I was planing on buying a new bag as one of my mesh had a hole in it. Beeing the 73, do you think i'd rather just use the 25 microns i have so i'm not wasting anything - i'm not handling as much product and if quality comes over quantity, i'd still rather not a waste a bit - or should i do my best to stop the water from leaking from the hole in the 73?

Throw away your 25 and buy yourself a 45 and 73.

Frenchy, I wanted to get your opinion. I know how you feel about the quality in the 25 bag do you think it would be worth catching and putting in grain alcohol for oil???

I would say yes since I hate to loose any trichomes and it would be interesting to see what the 25 actually delivers. Since ripe trichomes size range from 70 to 120 microns, I doubt very much that it will be worth the work and alcohol.

I keep some alcohol around to clean my scissors when trimming, I store it in a cool cabinet sealed until I use it again over time if I keep using it over and over while also adding what I get from the 25 bag it seems eventually out would pay off. Is like finance I buy a 5 year CD at the bank every year and then in 5 years my taxes and insurance is paid for with the maturing CD each year after that and anything extra it's bonus. Is a cumulative effect over time it will be able to produce another product..... I will try it, but it may take a long time...I just hate to think trichomes go down the drain.

I do the same I wash everything I use in alcohol (bags, scissors, knife, pirex, etc.) and after a while I have some weaked Simpson dtyle oil, I do not smoke oil but I eat it or give away to cancer patient.
 
I have scoped the material left in the 25 bag. Mostly broken trichome heads and little bits if impurity. Depending on the material your working with, the 25 can be somewhat quality.

Quick question: you said the trichomes fall pretty easily and dont need much friction. I dont use the washing machine and do mine by hand like in subs tutorial. Do you think one would rather do several wash and not mix too violently when doing it by hand?

In the video subs uses quiet "a lot" of force when mixing and so do I - as i was thinking that i needed both sharp edges and strengh to be sure to get all the trichomes - i see the point of diminishing return though, my first batch ever was made with an electric mixer and the hash wasnt full melt and had residue in it.

I guess it's all about knowing your strains and reading the material as you said but should i tend towards more washing and less force when mixing or keep doing what i'm doing as i'm getting full melt following sub method?

Thanks a lot for the great knowledge, it's always a pleasure when this comunity keeps you on "the ball of your feet" with mainlinning, super soil and hash making now , there's so much to learn!
 
Maybe you should try to go for a second and third wash, i've used my "remains" to make cookie with so far as i'd read that the next wash will only give lower quality hash. I'll give a try on my next batch though and see how it'll go.
