Im not telling your how to spend your money mate. and that statement you just said is hugely out of context. I was not saying the dig ballast would last longer or ''give you more mileage'' im distinctly saying you will get more yield. which is every growers desire to do the best they can, so again not telling you hot to spend your money just telling you, you wont achieve the results skimping the way you plan too. :)

I created a thread about a fan and filter.. What the heck does that have to do with a digital ballast or yield? Also, not buying the most expensive option on the market isn't "skimping." I'm sure you do not have the best of everything in your setup... There's nothing wrong with buying a less or least expensive reliable alternative...

I would like to prove you wrong there......
I'd hate for you to waste your time trying because I really didn't ask and am not interested in you proving anything to me. I asked for an inexpensive fan/filter combo, so if you're going to spend your time doing anything else, how about spend it on answering my original question. If you want to debate between digital or magnetic ballast and/or "skimping", may I kindly suggest you create your own thread to do so?

I appreciate you helping, but this isn't helping to solve my fan/filter problem.

I have a 4" fan and filter combo ( filter is 4x18x2) it has 2 inch thick walls instead of 1.5 and is refillable. The fan is HD and repectably quiet. I liked the first one so much, I replaced my regular EF with another one. I exhaust with one and scrub with the other one.

They are $120 shipped to your door. Carbon refills (11lbs for this filter) is under $18 shipped to your door. Just look for Gotham Hydroponics on ebay .So in the long run it isn't too bad being refillable. Works out to around $70 a year to filter. Hope this helps.

Hey OP I bought this one http://www.amazon.com/Hydropronic-Inline-Carbon-Filter-Control/dp/B002ZJNW3Q/ref=pd_sim_lg_3 and it works great. A little loud, but it does the job. I know it's not in your price range. Just thought I'd give some more options.:) It's definitely not the most expensive, but not the cheapest either.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to search and see if anyone else uses these, and then I'll make a purchase. Thanks again.

Although I have nothing to contribute to this thread it has been a treat to read. I was lmao with the scooter comparison and then it flew right over that guys head. Priceless Dudes trying to beat his way of thinking into you. Just buy the digital ballast and be done with it man.
