Begining pruning

Just wondering. Why do you feel you have to prune the lower leaves? For what reason? For me thats crazy. IMO Keep them on and green. Leaves produce bud. Careful what you read about this. Good Luck

How early is it safe to start pruning the lower leaves? from seed in a soil mix medium :leaf:
Its not. It is not ever safe to 'prune' leaves. Google photosynthesis. Learn a good topping technique. Search Uncle Ben's Topping. Don't ever use that word Prune again. That is fucking gross.

Noted, thank you for the info. I was mislead, I was told at some point there will be useless leaves that need to be removed

I remove some of the middle leaves after the stretch of flowering occurs (after day 21-24). This allows more light to penetrate the middle and bottom of the plant to promote bud growth.

There is no benefit whatsoever to removing the lower leaves, as there aren't any bud sites below them to allow light to.

Exactly what I meant by careful what you read. Check out some of those thread by ub like he said they will help you out. I promise. To many people think that this pruning method is good for your plant. Bullshit. Don't do it. Leaves produce bud. The more leaves you have producing " energy " the more bud you will have. Your bud sites don't need light. The leaves do. Research this you will see a lot of debates. Don't take them off. You are on the right track. Don't fall for the bs Keep em green. Check this out read the whole thing. Youll amswe what i mean. Follow what ub has to say. https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/521700-fan-leafs-blockers-light-energy.html. Hope it helps good luck

only time I would suggest cutting off fan leaves, when your in very late flower example when you start to flush, 2 weeks before harvest, I cut every fan leaf off, so I can get some extra light to the bottom of the plant to the small buds, that never get big, why, because I can harvest the very small buds as well, on the bottom, with out cutting off a few leaves. the bottom buds , never get the light and wont get sugar looking. only do this if you have every thing dialed in, no problems with the plant,

^^ like I said be careful what you read. Research more about flushing before you choose to do it. In simple terms the plants needs nutes all the way till the end. Be careful about choosing to flush them all away and not feed em and like I said bud sites don't need light. Leaves do. Do a double harvest if there not ready. But you need leaves for that remember. Hope it helps

Helps big time, I have more reading to do but from what I've gathered so far the more leaves out there to grab light the better so why take away from that? I'm kinda in over protective father mode right now and just want to give them the best chance possible to grow big and healthy. I also have to learn that doing nothing sometimes is the best thing for them. Thanks again :leaf:
