I heard about the treaty too, I think it was more of a "buy us some time" while they tried the now failed rescue - and that seems to be one thing that makes presidents hesitate, well not bush, but everyone else - another desert one or BHD....Oh, don't I know it. I just have say, in this Country it doesn't matter who is President. The DEMS run the show. They always have since the South re-construction was derailed....by DEMS.
When a PUB President gets in Iran will act somewhat better, but only because PUBS don't shit arournd and will send warplanes.
Unlike the DEMS who have the true reins of this country, emotion tampering. They are almost as good as the 'tollas and they hate that.
I just now heard, there was a secret treaty with Iran under Carter to try to get the hostages back. No recourse of compensation for the victims. It didn't get the hostages back, but the treaty is still in place. The Senate now will try to vote it out.
I hate the DEMS and the PUBS don't count.
I think Iran can be brought around but it will have to take a large olive branch from Washington... They warned you about 9/11 they also provided assistance to the northern alliance and helped the CIA resurrect the relationship with them. I know they've been responsible for attacks in the past, not recently (india was not their work, too sloppy) but it's time to put that to bed and move forward if we want any peace in the mid east. We need them because the focus now should be Africa (we have a large covert presence) can't do three theatres at once.
Now Hassan Rouhani is president, lets see what the moderates can do... The question is will he stand up to the mullahs? They control all things national security and unlike the previous guy, Rouhani is not former IRGC, but has some influence with the Supreme NSC, (irans version of NSC)... the one thing that's a given is nuclear cannot be off the table as I don't think they will attack Israel, Iran like's a good sabre rattle too...
