yes i have been following high defoliation technique, defoliated twice in veg and one in flower.. if someone in this site has used this method before i would be glad to hear some comments, thnx
I've never heard of "high defoliation technique". It sounds like someone's idea of a practical joke. No one I know takes all the fan leaves off their plants. If there are members here that practice such bad horticulture please let me know who you are so I can get you psychological help. LOL......OP I liked your plant. You will get some nice buds but they would have been better if YOU DIDN'T HACK OFF THE FAN LEAVES......bwahh:)

I know there are people who swear by defoliation. I think it is ridiculous. I, and my best friend, have both tried it and all it did was HURT the overall yield in both cases.

If you pay especially close attention you will notice after cutting off a fan leaf, new leaves sprout out of the bud. They arent as big as a fan leaf, but they need them to draw in energy. You have more to trim at the end.
Also, if you have a bud that is covered, not getting much light, you can watch over a period of days a new set of leaves pop out and grow to an opening for light. They find the light for the buds and bring that energy back to the buds.

I would pass on defoliation.

maybe you are right,i am not saying that it is the way to go,at least you have tried it and you have an opinion.i tried it cause i have only a 135 w led ufo and two plants to cover, maybe i was wrong, maybe i should stick only with lst,or maybe the light leak issue i had stressed my plants too much.1st time grower i had a lot of things to check and made a lot of mistakes.i just hope for a quality candy, quantity i think is lost here..

i also forgot to say that i have a temp issue my temps are 86-87 f, and i was told that the tops are stretching and becoming airy so another one candidate...i somewhere read that you can put in your grow room a 2-3 gal of ice and a fan to help to lower the temp, has anyone ever tried it? I understand that this would increase the humidity too much but that's not a problem cause i run a dehumidifier, thnx

That hot from 135 watts of LED? My room at the hottest hits 84 with 1600 watts of HIDs. Can you buy a fan and vent? Or'is your house just hot?

If that plant is 35 days into flower....you might not even get an ounce from that. Looks dank though.

About the most you could ever expect from 135 watts is a QP...and thats using a lot of skill. Buy a 600 watt HPS imstead of a new LED. .....and stop stripping all your plants leaves dude.

This is like day 26 of flower..securedownload-168.jpgsecuredownload-144.jpg This actually has less of a veg time than your plant...however it was a clone so maybe thats'not a good comparison. I use HPS and MH lighting...I have a UFO led but i dont use it. Not to say some people cant rock led.

Think of it as a learning experience. Its very normal to crop like shit on your first time. Your plant looks fairly hea
thy and the buds look dank....

Too hot room i have a big fan working in there, led is my only choice here..as for the 35 days of flower think that after def she was stunted about 5 days so maybe she is like 30 days..

People have this misconception that LED and CFL don't put off heat....

If you compare a 23 watt CFL to a 400 watt HID bulb, well of course it doesn't seem to put off heat.

Put 400 watts of any type of light in a small area, and it is going to get hot.

Well, i am back,8 days since my last update.Things are not looking good as i am in 43 day of flower and this is what i have..DSCN3293.jpg

I have a beautiful plant (in my eyes) but with airy, fluffy, buds. All together must be about 10 grams wet :( As it seems i pretty fucked up my first grow,at least i have the wonder plant DSCN3299.jpgDSCN3300.jpg

I call it like that cause it still makes me wonder, has the same age with the other,i didn't top it or lst,i didn't care enough for her,she is very small as you can see but has some rocksolid buds on. i have to say that i am having temp issues that i am fighting right now, temps reached 92 and humidity is about 40. I think i am gonna let them for about a month and then chop them, happy growing!

i have an ac but in another room so i leave the door open and with a fan i blow some cold air in there,(temps lights on is 80-81 and lights off 84-85)but this happens only when lights on can't do anything when lights off,i know that it is the opposite than it is needed (lower temps at night) but what else can i do?

Put a ac in the grow area? Not sure if that's a possibility

Your plant looks relatively healthy.
I think you just tried to do a little to much your first time. You should just grow your plant straight up, get to know mj and learn slow, making little gradual adjustments.
There are many threads, discussions about defoilation, but I feel that the plant has the leaves there for a reason. If it didn't need as many, it wouldn't produce them.
Whenever I grow a new strain for the first time, I grow it like a Christmas tree with no training, cropping etc. This way I can see it's normal growth pattern, observe for pheno variations and learn about that strain. I always take a cutting from all my plants before I flower them and then if I get a great pheno, or I like the strain, I run it again and then I will try training in some strains.
It's always best to make little changes and observe.
