how many cfls do I need

Rule of thumb, 100W for your first plant and 50W for every plant after that.
I have 3 in my pc grow right now, 2 x 6500K and 1 x 2700K.
Never mind lumens, concern yourself with true wattage and spectrum.

There's no way to answer this question because a larger plant will require more, while a smaller plant will require less.

my 1650 Lumens CFLs is on 30W I would not use less then 3 per plant, and in a 2-1 ration (2700k/6500k) start out with the 6500K, add one 2700K once the plant out grow the single bulb, then consider to switch to 12/12 and add the last 2700K (two more would be better)

remember, fluorescent light need to be with in 2-6 inch`s of the plant/Bud`s to provide strong light, so do consider a scrog or a lot of LSTing and remember a reflector of some kind or 30% of the light is "Lost" and some maylor/emergency blankets for the side will give a few % more

Its all abt what size space ur trying to illuminate..u could have two big plants or 6 small ones depending on ur growing style so plants are irrelevant....I use around 650actual cfl watts in a 3by3space...mixed spectrum

I'm producing the best weed I've ever had in my life w my cfl set ups..its all abt light intensity and spectrum...attention to detail daily....complete coverage of the plant meaning I leave no area not completely covered in direct light...all on top and the sides...my buds are so dense after curing they feel compressed...and resin production is outstanding...

ever thought of gettin ya a few 10.0 reptile UVB CFLS to put all around and only runnin em for about 2 hrs?? read alot where it says addin limited (few hours of UVB not full life cycle) helps with enormous production amounts of trichs....jus a thought thinkin im gonna add 2 5.0 uvb for my 1 plant cfl grow...jus now switched female clone to 12/12 already had pre-flower so only took 3 days for start of bud growth....got 4 26w 27k and 2 26w 50k with about 4-5 weeks veg (remember its a clone so took 7-10 days get roots jus put clone-x gel and put down in soil) with uncle ben's toppin method and lst.... IMO give it some taught if u already haven't

Thanks guys....and from what I understand the bright white cfls give the plant UV...I'm really not an expert on the specifics...I have noticed better resin production when I split the spectrum 50/50...I actually leave the same bulbs in place thru all stages of growth w the 50\50 split...they seem to love it...they veg like animals and when flowering on a good strain I usually see resin production begining at week 3 which is very good IMO...basically if I ever upSIZE my grow ill go hid w cfls as supplemental lighting...if I ever upGRADE my existing set ups it'll b w leds...high powered leds in a small space will give good results....my wife and I are having to move soon as the ppl we are buying house frm on a land contract are getting a divorce so house will b split in divorce...we suffer consequences...really sux I've worked my ass off last couple years digging truck loads of rocks out of local creekbeds to make flower beds and walkways and such...japanes maple tress bought and planted at $300 a piece...japanese holly bushes 16 of then planted to grow as hedges across front yard to eventually give me the coolest fence in the neighborhood...I really had it goin on in my yard...a nice little stoners oaisis....so anyway when choosing our new place ill b keeping what I do in mind and I'm wanting a small room to work w...and wanna be outta town for outdoor season...so I'm trying to turn this into a positve thing

As plat grows it obviously needs more light. so With that being said how big of a plant u plan on growing what size space u grow in and air flow takes affect. .Sorry bro not trying to be a "ganja master" but we need some info of ur indoor area........Thanks.

cfl organic grower here, cant take the heat for hps, I keep 28 , 26wx100 going at all times for four girls plus 4 40w 48"tubes. 2700k for flower. I get near 3 oz per girl dry

I'm growing in a box i bulit its 3' long x 2 1/2' tall x 2' wide. I'm also haveing pproblems with heat I allready have a fan but the temp is still around 90
