Me and Lil' Bud's DTW/Coco Grow>Chronic Thunder, Cotton Candy, Blueberry and Ice Bomb

Greetings All,

Whew, where to begin. I completed my first grow recently and I am now ready to start the second. A brief history, I started off going hydro with a drip system. That did not go so well and I ended up going soiless and handwatering. It got the job done at a minimal level.( I ended up with plenty of smoke ). My heart is really on an automated hydro system.
I have just revamped my grow room (with the help on my Lil' Bud of course) and completed the switch to dtw with coco coir and the canna line of nutes and some additives as well. I am going with 1 of each plant and see what happens from there. Hats off to Herbies for thier service.

My grow room is 9'x4'x7.5' and consists of 3 areas, the veg/clone cabinet (2' T5), the dry/cure cabinet and the main veg/flower area (600w). The entire room is automated and it controls the environment/lighting and the feeding as well. I will be starting out in small containers for a week or so, then transplant into 1 gallon for another week or so, then finish vegging and flowering them in 3 gallon pots. Here are a few pics of the recent work. The little yellow guy, that my Lil' Bud, he assists me when he can and always has quality on his little mind...lol



Will be cracking beans in a couple of days and get this party started.

Roughly 42"x42"x80". My drain table is 34x34 and the trellis frame is 40x40.

Looking forward to getting the next couple of work days outa the way so I can get started.

Thanx for checkin it out. It is a washing machine drain pan, home depot for around $20, it is roughly 34x34, which is perfect for the space I have.

Afternoon All,

I finally had a chance to soak a few beans, I dropped 4 in some water yesterday morning and all 4 have popped and are now in the starter pots - 80/20 coco/perlite. I rinsed the mix yesterday in a rhizo and calmag 280ppm at 5.8ph solution and repeated the process again today, just to get familiar with the processes and how these chemicals react. I like the way things are going so far..lol

I really do feel better when there are babies on the way

Good Afternoon Folks,

I finally have some green to show for my efforts. The Blueberry (Dutch Passion) is a bit slow on the draw, it popped after 18hrs of soak, going to give it a couple more days before I pop another one. The Chronic Thunder, Cotton Candy and Ice Bomb all came up within a few hours of one another. So we are off to the races now.
Lil' Bud dropped by and gave his thumbs up on his choice, so we shall see.

Evening Folks,

I gave up on the first Blueberry and now have another one soaking, if this one fails, going to go with a Green Love Potion. The others are doing well, the Chronic Thunder took the lead for now, with Cotton Candy trailing in third. All in all, very healthy seedlings, will be upgrading their pots to 1 gallon next weekend. Using canna start and a drop of cal-mag at 280ppm.

Thank you for the complement . If your speaking of the grow room, it looks like nothing, can't even tell its there for the most part. it is a forgotten closet that I insulated from top to bottom. Ran a 6" duct to the A/C and went from there.( besides being the only part of the house the wifey was okay with..lol) It is roughly 9'x4'x7.5' and quiet as a mouse fart, even under full operation (as long as the door is closed...lol)

Thanks for the description of it. The only reason that I asked is that I am finding a place to live in a Marijuana friendly state (CA w/ the card), and the wife will only let me grow in a closet (same boat lol). Just looking for ideas as far as design. You got a great setup!

I have had 2 failures on the blueberry, so I am now germinating a Delicious Critical Sensi Star for the 4th plant. I transplanted the other three ( Chronic Thunder, Cotton Candy and Ice Bomb) into 1 gallon pots and they will camp there for close to 2 weeks then get into the 3 gallon for flowering.


Need to get my 4th plant up and going so as not to be too far behind these Ladies.

Here is a newer version of my CO2 controller. They are stand alone and have a programmable output with dead band and have a readable output in either voltage (0-10) or Milliamps (4-20)



It takes 24vac for power and is surface mount. Really a nice end device for those that supplement CO2.

Good Evening All,

Well, it is a bit of a weird story thus far. I transplanted the 3 Ladies yesterday morning and the Cotton Candy and the Ice Bomb are absolutely exploding, but the Chronic Thunder has just sat there like a bump on a log. Hell, I even see a wee bit of paleness in the leaf tips. The Critical Sensi Star popped and is now in full blown germinate mode. If the CT don't get going by the time that CSS gets outa the coco, going to try another. Temps and humidity are damn near perfect 24/7, got it only dropping to about 75 at night right now and 80 during lights on (18/6) between 47 and 55% hum.
Here are a couple of pics to show what I am talking about, the difference in growth is crazy for such a small time frame.


On a side note, a buddy came by and got me fucked up as a football bat on some version of a Lemon Haze, It took about 2 small rips on the bong and

I humbly appreciate any advice at any time.

Evening All,

Here is an update, I think I have figured out the error of my ways. I was under watering my plants and it hurt a couple of them, but they are making a comeback. I all but tried to petrify the poor things.
here are a few pics from a couple of days ago. The Critical Sensi Star came up without a hitch...so far...lol


Here is a few from just a few minutes ago, Lil Bud dropped by and well.....he was not real impressed with my progress, and he let me know I needed to step it up a notch for sure, hey, guy calls it like he sees it


As long as I mind my P's and Q's I should be able to get these to flowering stage. Man, there is always more to learn, but I am on it like a duck on a June bug...
