educating them? Thats assuming what the educator is fact when it comes to something like this unless you provide actual proof its nothing more then speculation. Just cause its your belief does not make it right bud.. Thats the problem alot of people have on here..and when it looks like finally somebody managed to educate them, another jumps in and start spreading the same bs... just like with flushing, just like with bloom foods durring flowering..
peak potency is not only clear resin glands(trichomes), it's goes with capitate-stalked resin gland SWOLLEN heads and swollen calyxes. cloudy is passing the peak potency, amber means trashed potency.. simple as that
So you're saying that the scientific research quoted in the article posted previously is what?educating them? Thats assuming what the educator is fact when it comes to something like this unless you provide actual proof its nothing more then speculation. Just cause its your belief does not make it right bud.. Thats the problem alot of people have on here..
Dr. Paul MAhlbergAre there any other studies besides this one that everyone is citing from Dr. .....?
I usually like to see results replicated.
Well THC content is quantifiable, so.... it's not really like sparring in as much as there is more than one acceptable move.Seems to me there are conflicting ideas here. Now, being that I'm newbie I'm not going to say what I think is the right way or the wrong way. I've studied martial arts long enough to know that there is more than one way to end a bad situation, and not one certain technique or series of techniques is going to work for everyone. Some people like to go with clear trichomes, others cloudy. Most seem to agree amber has gone too far. While a few seem to like a decent amount of amber. Bottom line is....the way I see it....when to harvest comedowns to personal preference. I'm not here to be the best grower on RIU....its my goal to be a better grower than the my last grow....and, certainly that's something we can all strive for.
So you're saying that the scientific research quoted in the article posted previously is what?
b. Effect of gland age on cannabinoid content
We also examined cannabinoid content of stalked gland by age to measure the major cannabinoid components in both a fiber and drug strain (Table 2). Glands, viewed under a microscope, can be classified according to their secretory phases from the color of their contents. Glands most active in secretion (mature) are translucent in appearance, aged glands are yellow in appearance and senescent glands are brown in color. Mature glands possessed the highest content of their major cannabinoid in both the fiber and drug strains. Senescent glands possessed low levels of cannabinoids. The concentration of some components, as CBD in the drug strains, may be so low that is was not detectable in our analysis; similarly, for THC and CBN in the fiber strain. It is unknown where the cannabinoids go during the aging process, but we suggest that it is possible they volatilize into the atmosphere along with the terpenes in glands, as noted later in this report. Nevertheless, this phenomenon of altered content in glands during aging is one that should be studied to gain a more complete understanding of the secretory process of cannabinoids in the cell.
Now instead of just totaly disregarding this, try clicking on one of the finished pictures, plz sir tell me the color of the trichomes. They are translucent not amber, not yellow. A lot of people (by the way you talk your one of them), pulls when they see them translucent not actually knowing how long they will stay that before the THC degradation begins, it could go a whole week longer then when you pulled and you could of packed on a half oz per plant or so in those last crucial days. Thats when they pack on the weight, its the end of their life cycle and they know they are getting ready to finish their course. So they give it that last "umph" and do it up..
See thats the way to bewhile growing a certain strain for the first time, it will be a good idea to experiment & document your methodes and results.
when its flowering you can take some sample bud @ different weeks and try it and note the results in terms of what kind of high, taste, and duration of the high, etc...
thats my 2 cents
I am not stuck on anything but proven facts applied to my situation with lab results backing it...if thats a problem for you I apologize but it is the way I rollNo your just not understanding properly because your stuck just on the trichome, let me take a line from this research article ok. I'll try to be more clear this time, make sure you have read my previous posts regarding this and look at the pictures as they are going to be the same ones again.
The line is
Now here is what I keep posting

That is what I'm trying to tell you, and when grimace said pull on first amber. That would indeed be a good standard for new growers to learn by until they can tell.
Couldn't of said it better my self buddy. Well putBut isn't it not just about the level of THC but the other cannabinoids as well? You have to have the ingredients in the right proportions to get a great cocktail.
It was a question, not a statement... I'm not taking sides.Couldn't of said it better my self buddy. Well put
Laughing Buddha can become as tall as 2-2.5 m. high, indoor samples remain their decent size of about 130 cm. Those weed lovers who prefer to grow Laughing Buddha outside start harvesting in mid October (Northern Hamisphers) with a naturally high yield of app. 450 gr. per plant. Like any other sativa dominant marijuana strain, Laughing Buddha has a longer flowering period than her indica counterpartner, it takes 11 weeks for her to fully mature, some cannabis growers give her another week or two to get the best results. A very distinct, powerful sweet and spicy aroma appears at the beginning of flowering. Grown up plants display long fat colas, virtually dripping with resinous trichomes. Laughing Buddha marijuana is said to contain as much as 18% of THC and 0.4% of CBD what makes her high very energizing and happy giggling.
Well if that is a good answer then what is the proper proportions? Do we have any clue? Do they really give you different highs? Are their goodies elsewhere besides the trichomes?Sounded like a good answer to me
Really when it comes down to it, thats what its about. Some like sativa some indica, they all have different levels of each cannabinoid. Even the breeders talk about letter then go for a week or more longer after the harvest time for different results.
ThC reach's a point of degradation, thats when the trichs start turning amber, the THC then starts breaking down to CBD (which give you the couch lock high) It will get stronger the longer you let the trichs turn amber.Well if that is a good answer then what is the proper proportions? Do we have any clue? Do they really give you different highs? Are their goodies elsewhere besides the trichomes?
