Upgraded to 14,000BTU A/C but still can't get it down to 80F??!

What's goin on rollitup,

I just upgraded my 9,000 BTU A/C to 14,000 BTU in hopes of being able to bring down my sealed(I like to call it) room to 80-83F. Right now, the 14,000BTU A/C struggles to bring it down to 84F, from 85-84 it usually takes about 10 minutes which is quite unusual. I made sure the exhaust duct from the A/C is sitting properly, made sure it's exhausting out properly as well. I could be a little stoned when I say, I feel like the 9000BTU worked a little better. I have the CHHC-4 which controls everything, and I can barely use my CO2 since my A/C is constantly on trying to bring temps down. Right now, I have to settle with having temps at 85-89. I just bought the A/C yesterday and when I put it together it seemed to work fine, what's wrong with it now? I checked for duct leaks, or anything that can somehow have heat dispersed into the grow room. Possibly need to drain it? Or could it be that I have too many lights for this size A/C? I have 3x 1000w's, ducted and vented using 2x 6" 400CFM fans. I thought it's 4 x watt = btu/2 if you have vented hoods? That should put me way over the needed about by 8k BTU...I don't get it?? HELP!! I really want to run my sealed room at 79-82F, but I don't want the A/C to turn on for an hour to bring it down 1F.

My tent is 8x8x6.5, I have a dehumidifier in the room that I run at 45% and it barely gets hot. A little warm, but not hot.

Does the Dehum vent outside the tent or inside. To be honest 3 1000 seems like a lot to me in that space.

I personally would use one 1000w or 600w in room that small. I have 8x8x9 room and run only one 1000w

What is the ambient Temps?
And does your AC only run when the lights are on?
I run my AC 24/7....
It doesn't sound like your low temps are low enough, maybe you should run AC 24/7 or at least a bit longer before lights come on?

There's no way to vent the dehumid, the heat builds up inside. Also, I was told I can throw 4, 1000w's? Now I'm a week into 12/12, what do I do?

I run my lights at night and the ambient temps are 16-21C, or 60-70F. It runs when lights are off as well but it's fully controlled by the CHHC-4.

Hey buddy, you gave me an idea...the temp outside the tent was sitting at 79-80 during lights off, so, I am going to lower the temp to 72, and keep it like that till lights on, so when lights on comes, it's not trying to to bring it down to 82 with ambient temps of 80', I am going to try and bring it down to 81-83, with ambient temps of 69-72. Wish me luck, I'll post back tonight as an update.

OK. Just realized a couple things. The ambient room temp around the tent is sitting around 79-80F. My a/c will bring the tent down to 80F, but then it could run for another 20 minutes and it will still stay the same, at 80F. At this point I usually shut it off, because I can go and come back 30 minutes later and it's still at 80F. I'm guessing the A/C will have to bring the ambient temps down as well to 78F, if I want the temp in the tent to get any lower. However, what I am confused about is how come it won't bring it lower than 80F? I mean, I have the A/C set on at 64F, with 14,000BTU there shouldn't be a problem cooling down my lights to the desired temp, could there? For now, I am settling with running temps at 82-85F, I hope this is not detrimental. What do you guys think?

Buy a good ac unit. That thing should blast that area, 1000 watt lights w digital ballast produce lil heat.

Ditch the dehumidifier, the ac does that.

Ur doing something wrong or ur ac is fucked I run 2 1k lights in a 6x8x7 sealed room and run a 6400 btu ac and I can dial my temps down to 55 degrees lights on if I want

What the hell is wrong? I just bought this A/C 2 days ago for $677 after taxes. I imagined it would be powerful but it's barely a touch better than my 9000BTU system.

What am I doing wrong?

Also to the previous guys, appreciate your replies. I'll try ditching the dehumidifier and seeing if that helps, but I doubt it. A 14,000 BTU unit should be able to cool 3x 1000w's with ease.

How are u light vents setup are they sucking in outside air going thru the three lights then out the other side of tent

A window A/C unit must be vented externally from the room, or else you're going to keep fighting yourself.
As far as the condensation, if your RH is low, let it drain inside and evap, but if it's OK, do something to eliminate the drip pan or puddle, whichever you have.

Very true if u have ur ac in ur tent and the backside in ur room the ac is going to put off a lot of heat inside ur room that's why they stick out of a window

My dehumidifier kicks off alot of heat, I'm assuming u have a portable AC unit. Are you cooling your hoods with air from inside or outside the tent?

How my room is setup I have my flower room and then a 3x6 room before my flower room so two seprate rooms I have my ac and dehumidifier in my small room and my lights are vented thru a carbon filter thru the 2 lights and into my.small room then the natural pull of air gets pulled back into my flower room.

This is in a tent. The portable A/C is exhausting outside, through the window(Ducted through the tent). My lights are vented from outside the tent, to outside the window.

Outside my friend. Outside the tent, then out the window. The A/C goes from in the tent(the unit obviously) to out the window.

Man, I wish I could return this thing, even though it's already a portable. It's a 1 year warranty, with a 5 year warranty on the compressor. I don't get it though, 2 days old and supposedly this is one of their best models, if not the best model out there for a 14,000 BTU system. It's Amperage rating is only 9.3. Search it up, Plasma Cool PC-14E. Damn, I'm speaking like this unit is god sent or something; I really thought it would be.

Is there anything else that I am missing? Tmrw, I will take out the dehumid, give it a try and see if it will help, but I doubt it. I think the A/C is faulty, but how? What can it be?

Also, take note I run my lights at night time where temps are normally 14-17C right now. Crazy... $677 and I get no power from apparent power.
