fox fam soils have been added to my shit list

Wouldn't it be good to just buy some generic soil and mix in that bark into the soil?
Also, does it actually say "soil" on the bag, because that's clearly not soil!

A word of advice-- I sifted my miracle grow soil BC it had the time release food balls, plus tons of bark, and I had read that mulchy soils were a little too acidic for weed plants. Anyways, what you're left with is basically like peat moss. It's going to completely change in terms of water-holding properties. I definitely wouldn't just use the straight up sifted part without any amendments like sand and perlite to help it drain. Otherwise you'll have a hard time watering/feeding/flushing BC you'll be waiting a week for it to dry out.

FFOF is probably the most used soil for growing cannabis. I've purchased and used several bags without any problems, so I trust that whatever they're doing is fine with me.

You have to be kidding me( Bark in my soil OMG), So in the forest what do you think feeds all the other plant matter , what do you think Peat moss is made from , trees that fall and rot in forest provide many essentials to the living plant and tree matter, most peat comes from swamps the rich peat is made up of mostly swamp tree decay.

I have to admire the reply back you got ,sounds like they stand by their products 100% . I see a botany book in your future

All I can really say is that the OP's soil looks alot dryer than any bag of Ocean Forest I have ever bought. With that being said I would worry more about the conditions the location you buy from stores that soil.
And the final thought for the day is "If it doesn't work for you, don't buy it."

I get what your saying,as I use both as well and there is a difference(both good soils) But with a name like OceanFOREST
I have to assume it will contain more forest material beneficial to plant growth. Just this guys observation. I don't recall
if you said you have tried it yet,but I would go ahead and do it,I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I use Coast of Maine potting soil with kelp, which is a decent price. I personally don't like any bark in my mix, just perlite and good soil. For a 3 month grow with proper nutes, that's all my plants need it seems.
