Ballast Cooks Itself

So... Does this happen a lot? Light shut off, big power surge thru the house, quick look and there's a hot melty power supply wire. So annoyed right now. Thank God the failure happened right when I was getting ready to harvest. Called the vendor who agreed to replace it. Problem is they're in California and I have to send it out then they send me a new one, which sets me back at least a week. My plants really need to get out of veg, they're crowded right now. Dammit.



Need to find a ballast quick. Bruins game's on! So much to do!

No that is extremely rare, issue was the inside of the female side was not tight enough and it arced and melted.
I would request that the vendor cross ship for you (you send yours back now, he sends the replacement now) with your pictures he should do it.
Don't let this discourage you, but this is why hard wired ballasts are better, i still don't understand why they use plugs, but basically everyone in this industry does.

This is exactly how it went. Only rub being that I sent the defective unit Priority Mail, got to the vendor on Saturday; they sent the replacement GROUND, got here the following Friday. hpsgrowlightstore.com was the vendor. Anyway, we're now back up and flowering at the crib!
