My Very First Grow - 9 Weeks In - Surprised...

So this is my first grow and the plants are currently in their 9th week. I haven't really taken care of them much as I wasn't sure if I'd be able to grow them or not, it just started as an experiment in the beginning and that is why I'm so surprised. When I say I haven't really been taking care of them I literally mean I haven't really been taking care of them. They started indoor under CFL's but were moved outside within a couple weeks so they've been in natural sunlight (and darkness!) since like week 2 or 3. I haven't fed them any nutes at all whatsoever and they've been enduring the wind and rain outside. I haven't pruned, topped, etc. and have just been letting them do their thing. So yeah, I'm surprised at how they look today with the lack of care they have received. If I would've known I was able to grow from start to finish in the beginning I would've done things a LOT differently. I thought I'd be taking them down after a couple weeks but that hasn't been the case.

I decided to get some nutes for them today to try to help boost any yield I will get from them. I just picked up some 2-7-7 food since they're flowering already so I'll just feed them a little for the next couple weeks before flushing. Below are a couple pics, I only have two plants which happened to both be females. Let me know what you think and how many more weeks you think they should grow before they're ready to harvest! I dont have a camera so the pictures arent very good. But the plants are full of white and orange hairs and clear/cloudy crystals everywhere. I know they still have awhile before they're ready.

EDIT: It's hard to tell in the pics, but the plants are in 3 gallon pots. One is around 2ft. tall and the other is a little taller and less bushier.

the most common mistake new growers make is to over baby their plants to death. looks like you avoided that problem, nice job.

It looks like you've just really started to flower, so you've still got weeks to go. If you're entering summer, you'll need to figure out a way to keep them in dark for at least 12 hours, which won't happen just letting them sit outside.

I'm in the southeastern part of the US, and I've been bringing them in when the sun goes down and putting them back out after around 12 hours of darkness and I'll definitely continue to do so. I'd like em to flower as much as possible and I just watered with the nutes for the first time today. First of anything they've had...

Representing southeast u.s. brutha! I'm right below the mason Dixon line where the prices are high and the bud, well, isn't. You're plants are looking awesome, they have some nice sativa-ish phenos it looks like. Where you're so early in flower you might want to consider getting some calcium nitrate; its water soluble and it'll give you calcium and nitrogen.

I'm mentioning this BC in one of those pics (#2 I think) it looks like you have some yellowing leaves on the bottom. As long as the leaf is yellowing from tip to stem and the veins aren't staying green (that would probably be a magnesium deficiency) then more than likely it just needs a little nitrogen. Most flowering nutes don't provide as much nitrogen.

Looking gold man! Those would've made an excellent horizontal grow with some coaching.

Any certain brand you'd recommend? And at what strength? Or would any nitrogen supplement pretty much be the same and just follow the directions on the label?

Since the plants have been back out in the sunlight all day today I decided to snap a couple more pictures to see if maybe things are a little clearer and easier to see.

Pics 1, 2, and 3 are all of the first, taller, less bushier plant.
Pics 4, 5, and 6 are all of the second, shorter, bushier, more filled in plant.
Pic 7 is a side by side of both plants obviously

I'm not super familiar with the various brands out there, so no recommendations on the brand, but I'd say get something that's NPK numbers are similar. For instance, some are like 30-20-20 while some are more like 3-2-2. Obviously, the first one is 10X stronger than the second, which would affect how much to add/how much to dilute it. So, it'll probably be easier for you to work with a higher N nute that has similar numbers to what you're already using (just less math involved, frankly).

Also, make sure you figure out if you're using chemical or organic nutrients, as they don't mix. The chemicals will disrupt the organic processes that occur in the soil, thus making them much less effective.

Okay, thanks! So right now I'm using a 2-7-7 chemical formula. Should I keep the P and K levels the same and just up the N using a chemical nitrogen additive? Sorry for all the questions

I'd probably say so. 2-7-7 isn't super strong, so a bit extra (say something like 7-3-3 or something similar) shouldn't be enough to cause problems. I'd say to basically, get another fert with a higher N number, and do half that and half the other one you've been using. So, if you've been doing 1 tsp of fert per gallon, do 1/2 tsp of the high N fert and 1/2 tsp of the other fert with a gallon.

Shouldn't have to do too often, either, just want to keep it from yellowing/getting pale until a couple weeks before harvest time.

Looks to be doing great, i have 1 conern in pic 5 are you sure this is a female? I see 2 giant balls towards top, could be pistols i have seen some fat ones before, pic 6 is a female for sure, i may be wrong and hope i am i hope they are both females, do you know strain, and keeep making sure they get 12 hours of dark with no light leaks!, basically just check that and if is male get rid of it because all it will do is cauee your female to get seeds, keep on keeping on, and like i said i hope im wrong on this post lol! But hats off to you very bushy and heathly plants, what did you feed her today? I agree a little nitogen would help now that they are flowering they love love love that nit.
