Good day my fellow dabbers, blades and oil heads. I've been asked by several to post a tutorial on how to make my shatter, unfortunately due to lack of funds, The full shatter tutorial will have to wait til my garden is rolling, or until I can pick up some nice trims.
However, I would like to share this method as well, mainly because I think I will be collecting bubble hash and extracting oil from the bubble hash moving forward.
My reasoning being that I've tried this 3 times so far, and was only disappointed one time, and that was a self-inflicted fall-back (blow out, my extractor became a little hash cannon)
I think by extracting bubble hash only, we can reduce the introduction of many variables that are more often than not, detrimental to our extraction. Additionally by only extracting from hash, we reduce the amount of the secondary solvent being butane, with a reduction in solvent, we also reduce the length of purge times. The less butane the better, right?
First rule of the hash-oil club...
EXTRACT OUTDOORS ONLY!!!
If you cant wait til there is a safe place to do it outside, just don't do it, NO AMOUNT OF OIL IS WORTH A BHO EXPLOSION.
This is a dangerous procedure, and should only be attempted if you are taking your safety, along with the safety of those within a close proximity of the extraction local.
The 2nd rule of hash-oil club is Extract outdoors only...haha
The 3rd rule is quality of starting material will relate directly to the final product, you can't produce quality without beginning with quality.
Okay, lets get started..
*MAKE SURE HASH IS BONE DRY*
This is 90u bubble I acquired from the good folks at my favorite place.. The Tree House.

It is essential to either micro-plain or crumble the bubble to expose the surface area of the trichomes/resin in the hash.
^ Beautiful right?...very good hash, the aroma is intoxicating, especially after micro-plaining...terpene heaven..and we do NOT want to lose that terp profile (more later)
For this run I used 2 grams of 90u.
I rigged an old bong down-stem, with a rubber stopper at one end with a small hole to accommodate a butane adapter.
After ensuring the rubber stopper was fully inserted and air tight with butane adapter in place I then blow through the insert and placed my hand at the opposite end to make sure I have no apt leaks, I then pack in an unbleached coffee filter.
This step provides two beneficial attributes,
1) It will prevent blow back of material coming back up at you through the top hole.
2) It also allows for full contact of all your material, if you load material all the way to the butane insertion, the solvent has no way to reach that material.
When running straight bubble hash or kief, DO NOT PACK TIGHTLY.
I was just dumping it in lightly and tapping it to let it fill without packing, which works, but the pressure will shoot the hash down to the filter and reduce yield.
So, I decided to layer, some bubble, and unbleached coffee filter into the tube..this worked perfectly, sorry, I did not take a picture.
Use 3 M Clear tape to secure your filter, usually use ss hose clamp, but not suitable in this application, because the diameter is so small.
The 3 M tape is proven NOT to leach adhesive, or a zip-tie (I'd be leary of the zip tie, as the pressure that is accumulated is greater than wich a zip tie could not support the filter.)
Spraying.
This is crucial...
Spray 5 seconds and STOP, and wait for the tube to de-pressurize, shake you extraction tube a bit to expose more material and spray again..
Do not get greedy here guys, that's why I had my blowout..lol
I blast into cold (room-temp) glass wait for liquid to evaporate with no heat, then place on heat pad at about 100° for several hours, if not vaccing.
That's it guys, scrape your oil while its still warm, because it is super glassy and you will see, the shit flies everywhere...enjoy!

Use a heat-gun or hair-drier (low heat, high blow) to provide occasional top-heat, to pop bubbles.
