So im going out of town this weekend and trying to pick a rout that does not include highway checkpoints and cant find any threads on these check points, so il kick it off with the checkpoints I know for sure, please be state, county, and highway specific most check points are welcome be it, border, or agriculture NO DWI,DUI. Texas- Hudspeth county, highway 62, about 20 miles east of El Paso Texas! New Mexico- Otero county, highway 54, about 25 miles northeast of El Paso Texas! New Mexico- Otero county, Highway 70 about 20 miles east of Las Cruces New Mexico! New Mexico- Dona Ana county, Interstate 25, north of Las Cruses in between Las Cruses and Truth or Cosnsequences New Mexico! New Mexico- Dona Ana county, highway 70, 23 miles west of Las Cruses New Mexico. I have seen drug dogs at all these checkpoints every time!

i dont know what them links are trying to say, everytime i go through the checkpoint coming out of padre they will search you, with dogs, take your car apart at the slightest sound from their dog etc etc. just like going through customs anywhere. not all that different from going into mexico actually...but yea there one when you try to exit padre(hidden from the entrance of course)

you'll be fine as long as you're white.

when i was working in el paso i would head west on the I-10 every weekend for phoenix to hang out with my parents, and there was only the one checkpoint leaving el paso once you got up the hill. they just waved me through every time, but darker skinned folks never got the same treatment.

Look up City of Indianapolis v. Edmond. Roadblocks with K9 dogs for the purpose of finding drugs is unconstitutional.

That's what Dems say too :).
what en entirely weak comeback, bathed in partisan hackery and blind to its own hypocrisy.

tell me which party it is that routinely ignores the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment in opposing equal rights for the LGBTQ community?

tell me which party it is that wants to undo the 14th amendment, citing xenophobic and bigoted concerns of "anchor babies"?

tell me which party it is that gets hysterical when peaceful american muslims invoke their first amendment right to worship as they see fit?

tell me which party it is that ignores the eighth amendment in order to torture people and give the death penalty to 14 year olds?

tell me which party it was that just got their asses handed to them by the supreme court for violating the constitution with SB1070?

tell me which party it was that cried about the PPACA, only to once again get their asses handed to them by the SCOTUS?

but great advice you gave, i hope the OP has fun appealing his way through enough courts thanks to your horrible advice.

Buck said i gave bad advice, so here's my real advice: don't carry any drugs.

If you're transporting a lot of weight or at least an amount that'll earn you a significant amount of jail time, I'd personally would have a Spotter. That is, someone whose driving an hour or so ahead of you with whom you are in communication with that will alert you to any type of questionable situations.... I also wouldn't travel around any holidays or big events because that's when the piggys usually come out to make extra money via ticketing. Plus, I'd suggest both you and your Spotter use Radar Detectors.

Otherwise, either gable with your life or don't bring the drugs... Might seem like a lot of hassle, but it's better than the alternative plus you'll have piece of mind.
