Yeah I smoked DMT this one time; then I died the next day and nothing happened. I was all like "Wtf OMFG 1337 hax! Curse you McKenna!". Luckily I still had a couple tokens left so I got to restart and collected all the dots AND the cherry. Also got to eat the green and red ghosts too, yep that was a good life..

How was this study conducted? Sounds like balogny to me..im pretty sure your body produces dmt while u sleep, that's why dreams are trippy, ur just elevating the amount of DMT in ur body while ur awake

That has never been confirmed and is just a theory.

As of January 2013, this question of whether DMT is produced in the brain does not have a simple yes or no answer. It has not yet been conclusively demonstrated that DMT is produced in the living human brain, but there are strong reasons to believe that it might be, as well as technical issues that make the theory difficult to verify.

That is a theory in the common use of the word, it is a hypothesis in scientific terms. In scientific terms a theory is a hypothesis with an overwhelming amount of data backing it up. A good theory like Special or General Relativity or the Woodward-Hoffmann rules not only explains something but makes predictions based on these explanations and are then tweaked based on observations.

I would rather experience ego death while I was still alive to benefit from the experience later. Although if I know my time was coming I'd probably want to be tripping on my way out.

Interesting topic. It's funny I read the book, Living With The Dead; 20 years on the bus with the gratefull dead. By Rock Scully (their maneger) and they talk about doing dmt and asking their fans to quit smoking it during shows because they were afraid that they smoked so much and if the fans kept smoking tons of it by stage that they would lose their ability to have the life flash back at death or lose their trippy dreams. It's a really good book on the dead. It talks a lot about the drugs and parting lifestyle makes for a real interesting read. It even talks about the first time Phil and Bobby did molly and it was a sample from the same chemist that made Owsley's acid and he gave it to them to sample. A must read for gratefull dead fans and fans of drugs.

I am about to be trying DMT for the first time today. I will let you know how it goes. My buddy and I have a gram. We are hoping to see the dome.

What are you planning on smoking it with? It can be tricky to learn to do right, especially if you've only smoked weed before.

DMT is secreted from your pineal gland when you 1) Do DMT, 2) Die, 3) Dream

Also; which dead folk recounted missing out on the dying experience?

Agreed on that point. Most of us burn half of it away and then lock up the rest in a nasty little burned smudge first time we try :/

WE don't know about the release of endogenous DMT, just that it is there.
I really don't see how taking an exogenous chemical could fuck up our supply of an endogenous one unless we down regulated production, but that takes frequent heavy use which psychedelics don't lend themselves to. Worrying that a single use could interfere with it would be like worrying that your endorphin system would be fried because you were prescribed some painkillers for an injury once.

If a lion were to jump out of the bushes and you see it flying at you Dr. Livingston compares the experience to hallucinating. Your brain will release everything its got to take pain away and accept your death. His theory is your brain Knows its about to die and it will make the transition to the next life/relm or to oblivion a smooth one. He claims all animals have this special feature, to accept your fate and give into predators.....
