This seems at odds with the OPs statement they are being banned. What most call "politically educated" usually is just indoctrinated in the same political persuasion as the observer. I do agree with you that TV offers a great deal of misinformation. You'll never lack for an audience as long as you tell people what they want to believe. Most other countries do not have the GD tv that we have. People do not watch tv like we do here. They are much more politically educated and engaged. They are well read, tend to speak several languages, etc. The game that capitalism was has reached the point where the final few players who have accumulated everything are running the show, and the rest of the world.
You're not missing anything. Apparently you're still getting the commercials? Are you in the US?its true i have no idea wtf a tostino pizza roll tastes like they dont have em here!
As a kid, I spent many days every year canning food. Altho I can't say I remember it fondly. it was better than picking the stuff in the fields. At least you work as a group while canning, in the field you're alone, even tho there are others around. We would put up hundreds of 2 quart jars.Get into canning if you are not already. I don't think we are going to have to buy tomato sauce for 6 months after we can up our tomatos this year. A good pressure canner is a nice investment if you want to can low acid foods.
I don't think you will ever pay "normal" prices for organic foods. They cost more to produce. People tend to buy whatever is cheapest. Those food additives do benefit the consumer, they reduce costs.if you hate plastic neon cheese and frozen dinners you hate america. get with the program, commies. seriously, though. our food is the worst. it's fucked up how you have to go to earthy crunchy stores and pay double just to get normal food. i'd rather be able to skip to the local market and pay normal prices, even if it meant they were a little higher than what i currently pay. the interesting thing is, if there wasn't so much weird crap in our food, we'd probably eat less to begin with and it would be a wash. everything from the crazy artificial colors that psychologically make the food more appealing so you eat more to the weird preservatives that allow people to buy way more food than they need. also the obscene amounts of sugar in everything because of the price of corn syrup. i don't need sugar in my fucking salad dressing and mac and cheese. it's just my opinion, but all the extra sugar in everything is ruining the american palate to the point that regular food tastes weird. and i think it's absolutely HILARIOUS that they basically banned trans fat but it's ok to feed arsenic to our food chickens and use weird food additives that only benefit the manufacturer. the fda is america's least funny joke.
Don't worry, her husband will kill you long before you even notice the cancer. This is soooo un fair!!! And I just found out that eating pussy will give you cancer.......
no im in canada but we get american tv stations which have american commericalsYou're not missing anything. Apparently you're still getting the commercials? Are you in the US?
It's Sat night and I'm a little out of sorts, but I will attempt to comment. The reason 80% of the swill sold in the US is banned in other countries is because people ARE more aware and politically active, so they make sure shit like we eat is not an option for their children and themselves. The US is owned by the corporations that produce, market and sell this shit, then they sell us the medicine we need to help our bodies go for longer so we can consume more, and buy more drugs to correct the side effects of the earlier drugs, so we can live longer to consume more,...................... Do I really need to explain this out? This seems at odds with the OPs statement they are being banned. i don't care if it's organic, i just care that it's food. i find it pretty funny that other countries manage to put actual food in their pantries and their citizens seem to afford it just fine. the people of the US spend less of their income on food than any other country and we clearly eat way the fuck more. don't make it sound as if average people are breaking the bank to buy food here and we need the food companies to save us with their cheap disgusting slurry of strange additives, because it's a crock of shit. it benefits the company who can now peddle their slop to a larger market, it certainly does not "benefit" the consumer who gets all of the calories and a fraction of the nutrition.I don't think you will ever pay "normal" prices for organic foods. Is there a drink next to your chair by chance? It's Sat night and I'm a little out of sorts,
I have to admit that Europeans are more politically active, they have higher rates of voter participation. But most other areas do not. This may not be by choice, tho. However, I have found that "awareness" is often more passion than accuracy. My awareness is your indoctrination, so to speak. You may not be aware that nations having strict rules about the contents of food often have little to no enforcement of those same rules. Many of those same rules were designed solely to prevent imports, banning totally innocuous substances common to them while ignoring far more harmful substances found in local products. Extremely high lead levels in China, for instance. It's Sat night and I'm a little out of sorts, but I will attempt to comment. I agree, our truth in labeling and advertising laws need vast improvement. I also agree that we spend less on food as a percentage than most other countries, but people will still make decisions based solely on price. Many will still do so even if labeling and advertising were accurate, whether through ignorance, laziness, poverty, or just plain being cheap.i don't care if it's organic, i just care that it's food. i find it pretty funny that other countries manage to put actual food in their pantries and their citizens seem to afford it just fine. the people of the US spend less of their income on food than any other country and we clearly eat way the fuck more. don't make it sound as if average people are breaking the bank to buy food here and we need the food companies to save us with their cheap disgusting slurry of strange additives, because it's a crock of shit. it benefits the company who can now peddle their slop to a larger market, it certainly does not "benefit" the consumer who gets all of the calories and a fraction of the nutrition. none of this would be an issue if food companies weren't allowed to make misleading claims on their packaging (like "made with whole grain" or "free range" or "made with real fruit" or "all natural") that skew the consumer's view of how much decent food should cost. there's nothing wrong with selling junk, but having it masquerade as nutritious food is ridiculous.
