DAY 42 of Flowering

So sick. Hey man I have a 8x8 setup and have 25 plants in 5 gallon pots using 2 1000 watt lights and a old ass Montgomery Ward dehumidifier running non stop and air cooled glass lights that keep the temp at like 86/90 degrees and I only get like 2 n a half pounds tops using the AN. I also use CO2. My plants look nothing like yours and have colas half the size. Why do yours look so much more dope

Look into pruning and training. You should only be growing 16 plants with a 7 foot ceiling. Also, how are you running your air exchange and CO2? What medium are you using? What is the height of your ceilings. Where is your grow room? (basement, second floor, ground floor, outdoors) How do you apply CO2? What is the temp of you water? What is you RH? How often do you check your pH and what is the range and what part of the day is that? What is your air temp? What is your ppm? What do you add to your res? What type of water do you use? The list goes on and on....I can't answer that question without knowing more about your setup.

as for all eyes. 2.5 lbs is still solid. for 25 plants producing about 2 ozs aint bad.
prolly a space problem. if you went 20 plants and maybe topped em and had some
side light hitting all parts of the bud you could prolly yield better.
just a theory dont get all butt hurt if u disagree i didnt even look @ ur setup just going from ur comment.

Excellent solution to the falling over problem is tomato cages...
I prefer the 42 inch tomato cages... String is a god damn headache.

I tried the tomato cage a while back and I have not grown a plant without one (indoors) since.

I have used the cages for the last two grows of mine as well. Helps a lot and allows you to move the plants without them falling all over the place.

About what time to you put the cages in? I've always done it too late because I was like more fans and wind will make them strong enough but it never does. So I'm like shit is falling so I put them into cages and by that time I also use some string to hold them with a good spread on the cage. Next time I am thinking cage them as soon as the lights can be over the cage and still the correct distance from the plants.

I put the cages in when I transplant to the flower pots.
I transplant from 2/3 gal pot to 5 gal pot, adding a tom cage... then give them 5 days of 18 hrs under hps, then flip 12/12.

LOL that is the same mistake i made this time too. I had 3 16 inch ossilating fans on my plants and used silica in my nutes to increase strength in the plants cell walls. It seemed to workout until i had to move them a little in week 6 and now keep falling over.

Yup that has happened to me twice now. I need to move them to clean em up and then they just want to fall over. The branches also turn a lot more brittle during flower so you've got to be careful not to bend them or pinch them. Definitely using the cages at start of flowering next time.

If you use AN nutes have you used Rhino skin? I think that is supposed to make a lot stronger cell walls and plants but I've never tried it. Have you?

Yea $650 is a low end estimate too. By the time you end up adding all the micronutirents, enzymes, sugars, starches, proteins, ph buffers, and then the base nutrients along with rooting hormones and essential vitamins and amino acids and beneficial bacteria, your looking at around $650-$750 to operate a 100 gallon system for 2 months.

hmm that seems crazy in terms of cost, to yield 2kg a res of 200 liter would work fine for NFT which is about half your 100 gallon
food cost would be around £30 of flowering food, and £10 of veg food , personally i like to keep things as simple as possible , anything i can remove from the overall system i will do
i do not use any additives, everything that is needed to grow vigorous plants from seed to maturity is covered by the plant food
why do you use all that extra stuff, its not necessary ?
i think your plants would look just as nice without all the extras

The smell and taste alone of my chronic is awesome. AN makes this stuff called Bud Factor X. It's about $260 for 4L and i go through almost the whole thing every harvest, that alone is 1/3 of my nutrient costs but i swear it is worth it. 1 Liter of voodoo juice is about $75 so right there were already up to $335 with just 2 things.

I forgot one part... you said in the end you like to wait until the plants are tall enough... so that the plants are not too far from the light..
I actually cut off about 6-8 inches of the 42 in tomato cages... so they are shorter.
Basically cut them to the distance that at the plants shortest height the lights are touching the top of the tom cage and they are at the perfect height.
I let the lights sit 2x the distance on day 1 of flower than say day 35.
Hope that helps... Ive been using a heavy pair of vice grips to cut them, but, I'm sure there is a better tool for the job. Maybe a 4in angle grinder?

The label says .5% Mangnesium...
The guaranteed analysis is nothing but Magnesium.
I see they claim that there are forms of N in the bottle. I had thought that meant it needed to be in the guaranteed analysis. my understanding of the label system is limited. That would be a good question for UB..
From what I understand... if they claim it is in there (N,P,K and micros) it has to be on the guaranteed analysis. So, as far as NPK and micros go... i think... bud factor x is nothing more than Magnesium.
I would think you are already getting that Mag in your base nutes.. maybe not. I think most complete nutes have between .5 and 1% mag..

I can honestly say that I skipped a grow and left out the bud factor x because i was short on cash one time and the difference in aroma and stickyness was really noticeable. I'm not so gun ho about AN that i would pay $260-$300 if i didn't think it made a difference. The voodoo juice too also makes my roots grow ridiculously fast. My plants are 12-18 inches tall in 2 weeks after the first week seedling stage growing under 240 watts of cfls. This lets me get in an additional harvest a year. Its all the little things that add up to allow me to have this extra harvest a year that greatly offsets the initial costs.

Yea the rhino skin is awesome for the root zone and overall plant strength/health, it makes them thick and strong and helps them prevent disease. I used botanicare's silica blast and it seemed to lockup everything it came in contact with when i didnt add it before everything else in my solution. It was just a pain in the ass and i saw better results with the rhinoskin anyway.

if you are happy with it mate i wouldn't try to convince you otherwise
personally i do not want to use any kind of additives no matter what they claim
i am happy how my system runs, i just like changing strain/genetics, when i find the right plant/pheno to my taste i am happy
i am fussy about flavour myself, if it does not taste right i will not keep it no matter how potent or how much it yields

Im with you about the taste,i went through about 20 different types of plants before I settled on my top 2 in terms of aroma, yield, and taste. From there I learned what is best for these species of plant and I try to perfect the environment for them to grow the best. There are too many different strains of weed out there and they all grow differently if given the same environment. I like to just stick to 2-3 different types until i figure em out.
