Good post.
While I agree about not BSing to get a card, the prescription of MJ for more means that there are more people principally interested in the protection/expansion of the program and its participants.Oh I agree.
Furthermore, the dissemination of information regarding its effectiveness and relative harmlessness is necessary for dispelling rumors about its societal impacts, such as those perpetrated by propaganda such as Reefer Madness.so true
I think that you'll also find that - like essentially everybody on this site - most that smoke see the war on drugs - especially MJ - completely unjust. Besides the obviously self-serving origin of that rationale, procuring MJ legally is a step for many toward how things "should be", and their use a subtle exercise in civil disobedience.Yes I understand this but I think that some people need to understand the difference between the war on drugs and the progress it has made.
Getting an mm card is a priviledge not a given. Or at least I don't think that was the main intention behind it.
To post a thread about getting an mm card and to have some members posts comments like "its no big deal, just go in and tell them you are in pain. Lie to them. I did and I got mine in less than two weeks," I find somewhat disheartening.
I wasn't too sure what word to even use for the feeling but it is a mixture of emotions. I think most of them are posting their comments because they are trying to be encouraging so i really should not get angry at them but if you are a member that has a REAL application and you are waiting and waiting for a response, some of these comments are like a cyber slap in the face.
In other words, as long as the system is not abused as a way for people to legally sell drugs and otherwise propagate the stereotypes of smokers and growers, it's all good.Yes exactly. This is my entire point in that it is being abused.

Yes. I agree that many many posts are extremely callous, and even those within this relatively open community may in fact believe that the MM issue is just a scam to get legal pot. Obviously those opinions and the actions that reflect them are extremely damaging to the question of legitimacy of MM.
I see both sides, at least of what I brought up earlier. My GF has endometriosis, and her symptoms are awful. MM has helped her a great deal - not that we didn't self-medicate before that.exactly. Same here. Endometriosis is very painful. I am glad to read she got her approval.
Yes insomnia can be a very intrusive on the life. I have my ups and downs with it also. I think people should be allowed to use marijuana accordingly for this also BUT until it has been added then it is still in the waiting.
I can certainly understand where you are coming from. Some states allow certain disorders while others don't. I'd like to see a lot more people with cards....just done with some moral integrity
I try and think how I would feel if I didn't have all the disorders I do but it is to difficult to take myself out of the equation and give an honest answer.
How do you honestly say....well if I didn't have bi-polar disorder and a panic disorder...or if I didn't have fibromyalgia etc....I would feel differently about the subject matter????
I just can't do that.
I think the more people that get cards the more different strains we will have etc etc. There will be more demand and the quality of weed will progressively increase.
What I don't want to see happen is people learning how to scam a card just to go out and seel drugs to anyone any where.
I, on the other hand, have legitimate problems with insomnia, which is often not considered serious enough of a condition to treat with medication. Lifestyle, etc. But I sleep when I want when I med, and I would much rather smoke than take something like Ambien. In this way, MM's accessibility has opened my eyes to another problem it may treat - while if it weren't legal for my GF and I didn't originally sample her Rx (of course illegal), I wouldn't have discovered how effective it is. So there is an example of how it's availability helps even those that were not the original beneficiaries.
Supply and demand. Those fools in northern cali should just grow more.4/ specialized strains get consumed wastefully
..............I dont know, it just seems like your anger is misplaced, in my mind at least. In my mind you should be calling your elected officials, organizing with other patients with your condition and in your situation, and working towards a change. ..............
I'll take an oxy plznow i have to go pick up copies of 2 more scripts to cover all these clones. then i have to run by the club and pick up my commission check. and my FUCKIN' BACK IS KILLING ME!!! gonna have to pop an oxy just to get up and move.
