I would say a combination of multiple offenders are at fault and due to the earth's oceanic currents the coastline will recieve a greater amount. Looking at the maps from clayton's post it would seem most of the problem stems from the fact the U.S is getting the brunt of the Gulf Stream waste. So it's not just your shit, it's South America's shit too...and maybe a frozen turd or two from the north

Ummm...... You know that the stuff that lives in the oceans take shits too, right? I live on the emerald coast. We have the best beaches hands down. But fuck the beach. Way too much sand and sharks and police for me.
