DETROIT (WXYZ) - Michigan State Police, the Western Wayne Narcotics team and multiple other agencies are conducting multiple raids in southeast Michigan that are reportedly connected to a drug operation.
Chopper 7 could be seen at a two-story warehouse on Detroit's west side. The raid is taking place at Tireman and Epworth. Four individuals could be seen handcuffed outside of the building.
Two other raids are taking place at two other locations near 6 Mile and Van Dyke and 7 Mile and John R.
A total of 22 search warrants have been executed at private businesses, homes and four warehouses in Wayne, Oakland, Washtenaw and Jackson Counties after a seven-month investigation into marijuana trafficking.
More than 500 marijuana plants and weapons have been seized. Several individuals have been arrested.
One of the residences involved in the investigation is the home that exploded in Ypsilanti Township on Sunday . Police say that home is one of the locations where butane was used to process the marijuana.
7 Action News crews are gathering more information.

About time someone posted this. I live not too far from the explosion. Fucking idiot was probably making bho inside. I only say serves them right as no one was gravely injured. Let this be a lesson to others.

I am curious as to the arrests in general. If these individuals were truly breaking the law or if they were politically targeted.

The best part of the article is the end.
It says butane was used to process marijuana at the home that exploded not that butane was the cause of the explosion.
I read an article a month ago about a huge house fire, and the article went into great detail about how cannabis is extracted with butane.
At the end of the article the last sentence read, "Investigators found no tools or instruments, but are highly suspicious of the origin of the fire." :dunce:

If we had a working press maybe we'd know WTF happened. As it is, the reporter asks the cops, the cops say whatever sounds the best, and the press writes it down, word for word, no questions that may include facts, the "press" just writes down word for word what those fucking pigs say. Sure, there are some people trying to make a fast buck but there are also innocent patients that get caught up in this shit but the cops/press paint them all as criminals.:finger:

Is butane any more volatile than 99% iso, ethanol, naphtha, etc?

It seems like every story I hear about involving weed and solvents and blowing shit up it's always butane.

GrowGreenMI was raided a few months back by the DEA and Livingston county is specifically not referenced in this article. I would really like to know if anyone hit by this MSP/WWNT smash & rob were GrowGreenMI patrons with high dollar orders?

Butane, at room temperature and above, has an explosive vapor issue that is more similar to gasoline than the other solvents referenced.

Maybe my math is a little rusty but, four warehouses divided by 500 plants = 125 plants per warehouse, not to mention
several houses. I am sure they were being shady but, they could still all be within their limits too.

I just watched the video, holy shit that house was blown to hell! Maybe butane started it and natural gas finished it.

gr. grn. and another LG. list...those russian characters had the assorted "dr's" that wld do clinics inside of grow green, at least for a while at the beginning of g.g. opening. then this April, the russians clinic (mill) in Oakland Cty (of all places) got raided and everything was hauled out of the "dr's offices" in farmington hills under auspicious circumstances! a ton of medical files were obtained during that recent confiscation by various agencies and i haven't noticed any further discussion about it.

It sounds like a natural gas leak was present post explosion, but with such concussion it could easily be the cause.

The ATF and FBI were involved with these raids:

http://www.mlive.com/news/detroit/index.ssf/2013/07/law_enforcers_raid_22_business.html

That's a little out of the ordinary.
Not necessarily, considering the last round of raids with the 57,000 some rounds and 20 some "IED's". What an idiot with the explosion. How much butane would it take to make that explosion? I'm guessing was runnin quiet a bit in the house and a thermostat, fridge, static or some kind of discharge touched it off. Makes a closed system seem less and less costly.

If that dog in the videos name was not Lucky before the blast it should be now.

I have seen what small propane tank looks like when it explodes and this seems much larger.
Maybe natural gas line connected straight to c02 gen. ? I think we can definitely rule out butane. ( I can always count on the media to make me feel smart)
