How are people getting 20 % plus yields!!!????? Please help

ran buds today and got 23% return. ran 14g and almost got 3.5g back... thats 1/4 return! 25%!! was primo bud and I used lots of butane.
like twitch said.. 10-15% for junk bud, or nice shake.
5-10% return from bubble hash, or junk shake, trim from plants not buds.
20-25% if running very sugary buds only.
25%+ if youre adding kief or bubble hash chunks into your mix

I'd be happy with %15 shake .
many people re run the material to get an extra % or two
But be happy with 12-15%
Try to imagine the bud itself. It takes some really sticky icky. Flowers to get any where near %25
I dont think too many people are hitting %25.

Wait?... 5-10% from bubble hash is a typo right?
I've never yielded less less than 60-70% return when I run bubble mixed with shake.
10-12% on trim + popcorn
Popcorn nugs 12-15%
Flowers, the highest return on just flowers was about 22%
You don't always want to increase yield, especially if you're making the oil for self-medication.
Quality over quantity will improve your overall technique, eventually leading to you yourself increasing your own yield through repetition.
Repeating this process over and over and over again is the way we all learn.
That is what sucked about my personal learning experience, I had to buy all kinds of shit, and spent a LOT of time doing research.
That is the hard way...haha

It's fairly impossible, unless the material is ridiculous with trichomes. Even so, unless one is adding kief and or bubble hash, you have an acceptable yield

that should be your highest goal right now..
unless you yourself are growing tons of weed, you aint gonna get far with making bad oil..
the oil will speak/pay for itself :]
when ever you do hit that 20% mark, take pictures, mark it on a calendar, celebrate :] those moments are pretty sweeet

and ive done 25% a few times.. heres the big secret: the trick is nice bud!! 25% after vac purge is tough though! ive seen some buds on here (vegas latest pics) that look nicer than my bud, and my bud yielded 23.5%, so....
25% is not hard at all if you can find, buy, or grow some very nice bud! I ran 14g the other day, 3 cans, and got 3.35 back before vac chamber... almost got 1/8 oz of oil from 1/2 of of bud. and its VERY nice shit, but im sure theres lots of nicer more potent bud out there.. after vac purging is another story... more like 3 grams pulled from 14 grams.

Only way I've been able to get over that 22% mark is to add kief and/or bubble to the tube, then yields are remarkable.
I always stop spraying right when the liquid turns from gold, to yellow to clear.
I feel anymore solvent is compromising the quality of my oil, and makes for more work.
But damn, my man, if you are consistently pulling that off, you are something special, that's for sure. Nice work....

i been using either trim, or trim and nugs..
too many variables in the weed, its all in material, our technique helps just a tad..
i got a couple strains here i feel can hit over 20% been waiting to blow my own fresh stuff :[

yeah if you can get over 20% after winterizing, that very impressive!
my max is 24% recently. after purge its probably 21%. after winterizing its probably 18 or 19% return. I find that the chamber loses 10% weight. then winterizing loses 10% weight... really hard to sell winterized oil. too damn expensive.

We don't usually separate out our trim, just remove the fan leaves and stems before running guts, feathers, and all, to make oil.
We average just over 20% winterized with that mix using a Terpenator, and could improve it if we ran just buds.
That was not so, when we were running open tubes, as we averaged only around 18% on the same mix. Being able to control the soak time and number of cycles without repacking improved our yield.

yes, possibly a waste, not for nothing though. its just a little extra to give it a booth. you do get a much larger return... 30-40% or more. sorta the quality vs quantity thing... but is it worth the huge loss for just a 2 or 3% increase in potency and 10-15 in yield? to some, it might not be.
personally, I dont like hash, and happened to have a little bit. so I just ran it in with the butane. was just 3 or 4 grams or something its something ive only done once or twice though... I dont think too many people make, or try to buy bubble hash just to run it with BHO. its kinda just an experiment once in a while. overall, I definitely woulda gotten higher, and more times if I had just smoked the 4g of bubble hash. but oh well.
some of these guys grow like 5 lbs a month and only smoke 1/4 lb... so they got a lot to play with/waste.
ive had guys with BEAUTIFUL full melt bubble hash. had about 8 ozs of it.. more than they knew what to do with. they dissolved one in everclear, and filtered it, and evapped it. and WOW it was nice oil made with like 30 something grams of pure bubble hash. got a 80% or so yield he said. when I did it I only got 50%.
but yeah... theres def some benefits to running pure bubble hash.. if you can afford it!!! theres defintiely some big dogs out there in the weed game that deal with MAJOR weights (300 grams of oil at a time. 100 cans of butane runs. bubble hash runs that produce dozens of pounds!, filling up cup cake trays worth of oil to be put in the chamber, etc...)

when I say large amounts. I mean like this. this guy has FUCKING TUBS full of primo bubble hash... im not a hash fan, but I would crawl through a mile of broken glass, give an arm and a leg and my first born for that room!!! these guys are dealing with 100+ lbs of AAA bud at a time. others are 10lbs, a lot are just 1lb. which is still a lot to be experimenting with like adding bubble hash to BHO, etc...
