Makes sense about the chlorophyll, never crossed my mind that drying the leaves would be necessary. I've got my trim from the last run in the freezer, luckily I dried it out first, so I'll combine with the trim from my current grow and give the bubble hash a go. Got a few questions for you. Do you mix in the work bag and then pour into the other bags? When you take the work bag out of the bucket, the plant material stays in the bag and then you pour the liquid from the bucket into the "sifting" bags? I think that is how it goes, correct me if I'm wrong or what I'm asking is confusing.

Loved the grow bro, the Cata's look incredible, really dank. Cheers and enjoy all your hard work brotha.

Nah you`re spot on there Stone. Do all the mixing in the workbag alone, then put your bags in another bucket smallest to largest micron size, pour in your liquid that passed through the workbag, and let each slow sift out for you. I used a spoon to spoon out the goods and place them generally on a paper bag or parchment paper, whichever is laying around :). Because I dislike when then don`t do as planned ... I`ll be re-doing the Hash installment at some point with some buds and sugar leaf trim to show what a REAL process would look like. I think the frozen stuff works best, but if you can dry it first, and then freeze ... might be doing really well too. Looking for that golden tan color !! ATB Stone, thanks for the question :)

Awesome harvest man and i must say I'm up for watching a battle of the kushes, as far as the green hash goes i extracted some from my last harvest and i used undried frozen trim and i did not come out with green hash, it was mostly golden brown accept for the large micron stuff, i am wondering if the reason for the green hash might not be the freshness of the trim but the length of time that you soaked your trim for, when i did mine i used a paint mixer attached to an electric drill so i didn't have to mix for nearly as long as you did i probably had the trim submerged for less than 30 minutes total, and my hash turned out fine.

Hey KC, do you trim and manicure before drying, halfway through or after? Ive seen all three, i used to do it before. But by the time i quit i was letting whole plants dry w/ leaves then harvesting.

Green hash still tastes amazing and has less leaf material than bud. Enjoy it and keep up the hash experiments. Here is my first try with dry ice:

It is green but yummy.

Here is my second try with bags, ice water and a paint mixer attachment for my drill:

A trick I learned by watching the Boldt bag video was to shake the fine slow draining bags up and down and the water comes out in seconds!

Have fun!

Cheers,
Mo

Hey mohican, have you ever hand mixed it with a spoon? Most people find the drill breaks up trich's, leaves and smaller particles as well.

Hey T, thanks for poppin in mate. I used to just cut the plant and hang it whole like you described ... but it was airing out my dry process to something like 12-14 days ... I remove all the big fan leaves by hand, then clip branch by branch and do a nice once over on them. Then up to dry. If necessary (usually isn`t now) I can remove any extra leaf material afterwards, but it gives me tighter, more compact buds ... and in 5-7 days of hanging opposed to 12-14 :).

Got the update today so you`ll see what them nugs look like as of this morning,

... And here`s the little teaser from a little grocery run a day or so ago :D ...

We`re about halfway through our dry process, then we`ll get a weigh-up, and jar all the Cataracts in the UV proof stash jar ... BuKu and Jill get separate jars I think you guys will like ;). Nug porn photo shoot to ensue by the weekend hopefully !! ATB guys, puff, puff, pass ---> Burmese spliff :joint:

Thanks a million Mo, great post mate. I thought the hash tasted just fine ... but never had it come out green ... Think Psilo nailed it earlier that the mix was for too long, 75 minutes is a bit extreme (mind you with 2-3 stops every 15 for settling). Used to use the mixer, but found it sacrificed my 74 and 90 micron yields and increased my smaller 25 micron yield (which I find to be the broken resin heads, slightly less potent and tasty). Hence I used the spoon method for longer than probably necessary to accommodate for the damage I know the mixer can do in a 15 minutes mix, haha. Again, awesome Mo, the hash is all done drying now ... maybe I`ll have a couple rips in your honour

Wow! Starting the farm without me? hehe

I ran my trim like 12 times. First I did a gentle slow mix with the drill and then I added a ton of Ice and beat the shit out of it. I never got any green in the bags and here is what each bag caught:

The 78 bag was the clear winner and the finer bags were not full of bits. It all ended up back together in the coconut oil:

This is what got me through the 4th of July "HOLIDAY" :P

Cheers,
Mo

It smells delicious. Coconut and Malawi have this very tropical clean hazy smell. I also used it on my face for a 4 cm nasty brown growth (too much sun in my youth). It was gone in a month! It was so hard to put it on my face and smell that amazing smell and not eat it all!

Coconut oil has many used, as well as black castor oil. It is known as the miracle oil i think. lol .

Just put fire to the 74 and the 45 again, but in larger quantity this time ... It`s coming on slow, but it`s coming. Nice Kush influence in the exhale, but not enough to fully overpower some of the spicy Burmese in the background. The 45 I went back for seconds and thirds on ;). Still haven`t sampled anything bud wise yet except the trim oops`, which is hardly a reflection of the dried, cured product. Shitty phone pic ...

Traffic in where? Nursery?

If you got that much 25 compared to 74 there was definitely something breaking down the plant material :P

Haha, just the Thread my friend. I reckoned the same about the amount of 25 ... but confused me that there`s an equal amount of mess from the 160, haha. Regardless, I`m finishing up some of the OG18 proper brown hash now, was hoping for some nice new stock ... but not crucial.

I`ll give away a little hint as to the grocery run ... aquaponics ...

When my dog had cancer a few years ago I done my best to treat him myself the best I could, no vet would treat him because the cancer had spread and was very advanced, anyway he had a tumour in the back of his neck that I would massage with castor oil and after about a week it had reduced in size by about half, the other tumours were not so easy to treat because of whre they were but I firmly believe the castor oil was making a difference to the one it was being rubbed on.
